Taverna Lefteris is set in a charming courtyard under a large walnut tree — a lovely and peaceful spot. The food we had was very tasty, but the portions were quite small compared to other places on the island. The menu was rather limited, and prices were noticeably higher than elsewhere in Naxos.
It was actually the most expensive meal we had during our stay, without necessarily offering something exceptional to justify it. Also, unlike every other taverna we visited on the island, there was no complimentary dessert or drink at the end — not even a slice of watermelon.
Overall, while the setting is delightful and the food is good, the value for money could definitely be improved by expanding the menu and offering more...
Read moreThe village is one of the most beautiful in the middle of Naxos and it is worth a visit. The tavern is in a nice placement and the food is quiet good but the service is very unfriendly, the prices super overestimated (a traditional Greek salad costs 8,20 euros sic!) which is very expensive for Greek standards) and has nothing to do with the experience of eating in a traditional Greek taverna (one of the main dishes came a. 1,5 later without a sincere excuse, no a little delicacy in the end, horrible hospitality). As there are many other tavernas in the village and Filoti and Chalki (2 other very beautiful villages) are nearby I highly recommend to try...
Read moreWith the tables placed in a wonderful quiet garden with a view of the mountains, Lefteris offers truly exceptional Greek/Naxian food with a few extra twists, enough to distinguish it from the regular tavernas of the island. The smaller dishes were simultaneously interesting and incredibly tasty: from the mustard and apricot jam mushrooms, to the cheese “milfei”, and the Musaka rolls. Similarly every grilled meat dish we tried (Beef Kontra/Chuck and the Lamb Chops) was from local meat, was incredibly flavorful, and grilled to perfection. Lefteris offers exceptional food for great value, in a perfect setting. Highly...
