Agathopes Beach — Attraction in Municipality of Syros and Ermoupoli

Nice sand beach with crystal water and youthful vibe. Popular for Greeks and fewer tourists. Bar on hill plays cool pumping music as the sexy bikini crowd overpays for drinks and beds. Other restaurants behind the beach. Parking on road and near the bar on hill. Sand is great. Long shallow area. Mainly protected from the wind. Maybe the coolest beach with sexiest vibe. Covered beds were 60 euro, set of 2 was 50 euro…or grab free sand. You can sit in the vibin’ bar for free or pay for a bed from them (waiting list in June which is dead season here) but you have to buy drinks and or food. It has easy entry to water and we chose to sit in the bar. Better my money go to drink and...

I used to come to Agathopes for 10 years and the place was ideal for families. The beach and waters were ideal. The restaurant Meltemi stands firm into being a very nice place with the most friendly staff and homemade dishes.

The good old times are gone ... the « pay to sit umbrellas » are now getting each year more and more place with tragical prices (how can people afford to sit for 30 € ?!).

The free spots are as a consequence overcrowded in August with no respect of distancing to make people be safe during this strange period.

If you really plan to go there and enjoy some quietness : get there very early in the morning but don’t expect the same...

If you are looking for cristal clear quiet and shallow waters to dip in this is the place you are looking for, it has bars and restaurants nearby and the beach offers free showers to take out the salt from your body and dressing rooms to wear/unwear your swimsuit.

Also there is a paid section where you can borrow sunbeds and umbrellas starting at €15 and a free one where you can use your own umbrella and beach towel.

The parking section is limited but enough for the beach capacity, just keep in mind that in summer this beach could be a little busy due this place is quite popular among locals...
