Kalamata "marina" is in our opinion a one star marina. During our stay here in the end of April the service was exceptionable and the management was not pleasent to deal with except one of the ladies the reception who tried here best to deal with the stubbrtn management.... there is olwsys one person who tries to save the company.. salut to that 🙋♀️

Kalamata Marina (update from my earlier komment)
We like to clarify our first spontaneous impression about the marina: We have now learnt that the owner of the marina has stopped all investments in the marina do to uncertain rent agreement with the management of the city. That must be the reason why the entire area looks like a Russian backyard. Everything in the marina are in total dekay. Shame on you Kalamata City. It must be frustrating for the employees to work uder such bad conditions and always try to make up for a lousy municipal management. At last we managed to repere our propeller thanks to excellent craftsmanship. We hope the Kalamata municipal management will grant you with a manageable rent contract and make the marina shine again. Thanks to the two ladies in the reception for trying hard to manage the sailors and their own bosses. We understand that the male bosses are nice and kind people BUT please remember that they must communicate strait ond politely…. Best wishes from 2 Swedish sailors in...
Read moreIf you are a traveler visiting Kalamata, marina is a must. A calm place to walk, see the boats, have a coffee or food nearby. The are many restaurants of different types of food (e.g seafood, pork, beef, pasta etc) to try either during summer or even winter time. It is a 10 minutes walk from the port of Kalamata or 20 minutes walk from the center off the city. If you are a boat owner, marina of Kalamata is a safe place to anchor your boat (try avoid anchoring at the east side of it though for when the wind blows from the west). The one star missed is due to the fact that the marina owner could offer quite more to the skippers for what it charges, but for sure it is far cheaper than the Athenian Marinas. The next safe place to anchor is Foinikounta which is 29nm away. A nice 40nm route to enjoy sailing is Kalamata - Koroni - Foinikounta - Methoni -...
Read moreFirst impression came from the staff, excellent help mooring and a very competent and friendly Reception team who took time to answers questions and explain the facilities. Let down are the sanitary facilities (Toilets and showers) which could really do with modernising. They fullfil their function but are very dated and also partially damaged. Also the Marina Manager who took little notice of my complaint regarding a dodgy mooring line - he lets his staff down with that kind of unconcerning attitude towards paying guests. Restaurants and shops are generally within walking distance which adds to the charm of this...
