ΤΟ ΛΙΜΕΝΙ — Restaurant in Municipality of Kalamata

We were recommended this restaurant and attended last Friday Our starters came separately they messed up the orders and the main meal also arrived at different times, when we complained the waiter causally blamed the kitchen, no apology nothing. The food was ok my rice was hard and my friends octopus was a tad over cooked and rubbery: Despite the restaurant interior being absolutely lovely as is the location there is no atmosphere at all not even light music (and this was a Friday evening) the staff look super stressed and are not attentive at all in fact getting anyone to serve us was almost impossible We waited over 30mins for a drink we couldn’t get anyone’s attention so we ended going up to pay - we made a complaint about the service in general and the manager left us to get another waiter to deal with our payment no apology nothing. We were actually amazed at the poor service we had just witnessed - it seemed they only had time for large tables ordering lots of lobster and expensive wine. Advertised as a fish restaurant but they didn't have any fish. The only fish they had was an overpriced mullet or grouper, 60$ for a piece of fish. Stupidly expensive. I ordered a Fricassee which is supposed to have multiple pieces of fish. I got a single small one. Maybe 100grams if I'm being generous. They charged me 20$. They also charged us for the bread and the water which we didn't touch. The waiter was rude, didn't speak English and gave my friend a mussel saganaki that was not a mussel saganaki. There were no tomatoes, no vegetables, just mussels with a bit of mustard sauce.

We actually saw the cook leaving before we got our food which leads us to believe that they didn't actually cook for us, just reheated some food.

On social media they had great recommendations, that why we went there. We will never go again. Aweful service, the food was way too expensive for the quality and the taste. We ate a fish for 40€ which was way too dry and had no taste. The fish soup for 13€ didn't even taste like fish soup and had 3 pieces of fish in it. Starters were little and tasteless for high price. When we choose the fresh fish, the waiter didn't know what kind of fish he was selling and said "this is balck and this is white fish". Unfriendly staff. The only good thing there was the wine.
