Many years the sea turtles haven't been seen. But thanks due the preservation of wild life the turtles are seen again. Look in the shallow waters where the temperature is warm and you will see more and more beautiful nature throught the ancient sunken city of Epidavros

Lovely spot to take a swim. Water was lovely and warm (start of August). There are ruins of a few buildings to swim around. Bring goggles or snorkel mask and plenty sunscreen. There is not much shade unless you hire an umbrella or sit at the nearby bar.

if you do not come prepared to go snorkeling or to jump in a kayak then you can stay at a terrace to enjoy the sea and have some quiet time. there are some boards with some pictures and information but you cannot read anything as the glass is broken.

This was easy to find. We parked behind a nearby restaurant and ordered coffee. The chairs and umbrella are free if you have a drink. Later we ate lunch there too. While snorkeling over this amazing ancient site, I counted 13 large Pithoi storage vessels. Only the bottoms remain but they are huge. Some colourful fish but mostly little neutral coloured fish. Amazing floor plans of ancient buildings. Some terracotta tile floors to see as well and what looks like a solid wall hat has fallen over in one piece. Attend early in the day to have the place mostly to yourself, though the afternoon light is beautiful for underwater photography if...

What an experience! Imagine discovering ancient sunken city just by floating meter or two above it! Only few meters from shore!!! In crystal clear Mediterranean sea!!!

Walls, tiled floors and broken ceramic olive oil pots at your fingerprints...(at least I think they could have been olive oil pots) Yes Greece is full of architectural sites and temples but it feels different swimming out to find it, then snorchling and float above it!

The sunken city is absolutely amazing to snorkel over but be prepared for GIGANTIC sea urchins. Bring your snorkel and water shoes to go for a swim it is absolutely amazing. Sadly the sign that says "to the sunken city" is no longer there, so if you were hoping for some pictures with the sign like we did you'll be disappointed.
