We’re on the lookout for meaningful pieces of art to bring our new home in Pelion to life, and our search led us to the enchanting atelier of Evaggelia Marinou (Licia) in the charming village of Tsagarada.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed like old friends by Licia herself—a warm, luminous presence who instantly made us feel at home. Her studio radiates creativity and soul, and every piece she’s crafted seems to carry a heartbeat of its own. We were also lucky to admire the striking work of her husband, the distinguished artist Dimitri Maninis—what a remarkable duo.
Our conversation with Licia unfolded into something unexpectedly beautiful. Thoughtful, soulful, and deeply human, she shared not just her art, but pieces of her spirit. I could have stayed there all day, just talking and soaking in the atmosphere. Her artwork? Absolutely breathtaking. I even shared (with a laugh) my brief 15-minute adventure into ceramics—she was gracious and kind about it, of course.
A glass of homemade lemonade from her garden, warm smiles, and many heartfelt words later, we left her studio not just as visitors, but as proud caretakers of four of her pieces. She encouraged us to truly connect with each work, patiently guiding us through their details in a way that felt like an art class for the soul.
What an unforgettable afternoon spent with such a beautiful soul.
