As an ex kayak instructor in the UK, I was very impressed with this tour. We did the Fikastra beach tour which was sold as a 4 hour trip but actually was more like 5 hours which was a pleasant surprise (perhaps because our group was on the bigger size)!

The tour is run by an experienced guide who has been doing it for 10 years. Prior to the session, I saw him carefully checking the up to date weather forecast to ensure the safety of all participants.

For our trip there was also a safety boat (a powerboat) which was reassuring should anything have happened. All these things combined made for a very professional set up.

The actual trip consists of visiting a freshwater spring flowing into the ocean, we got to see and hold a sea urchin, and also going in a sea cave.

At the beach we were served fresh Dakos (this is a brown dense bread, with tomato sauce and fresh crumbled cheese on top) and Iced tea, which was very nice. It was cold and made fresh and you can have it without certain ingredients if you have an allergy.

You don't have to be a particularly strong paddler for this trip; we only actually paddled 7km, and you can go in single or double kayaks which is your choice. They are also sit on top kayaks so very stable. There are plenty of rest stops so I wouldn't worry about doing this if you haven't paddled before. The staff were super friendly (spoke excellent English) and the whole trip was a real highlight of our holiday

Top tips: -You must wear a t-shirt under your boyancy aid so wear an old one for this. -You also might want a dry t-shirt for Fikastra beach as it's in the shade so a little cooler. -It's a good idea to wear some sturdy shoes (that can get wet) for the trip for when you need to climb on some rocks for one part. I only had flips flops which were allowed but weren't ideal. You pay for the trip at the end in Victoria's café. The instructor takes photos throughout the trip which he uploads to Dropbox within 3 days for no extra charge. They were lovely photos including action shots! Dry bags are provided and there is a small shed to lock up personal...

Unforgettable Kayak Trip with Shakayak!

I recently had the pleasure of going on a kayak trip in Greece with Tomas and his crew, Sabrian and Tassos, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, Tomas went above and beyond to ensure that our kayaking adventure was enjoyable and safe.

Their knowledge of the local waters and expertise in kayaking made me feel confident and at ease throughout the trip. They provided us with top-quality equipment and gave clear instructions on kayaking techniques, ensuring that we were comfortable navigating the waters.

The itinerary planned by Tomas was exceptional. We explored stunning coastlines, hidden coves, and breathtaking caves that I would have never discovered on my own. Their passion for the environment and conservation was evident as they shared fascinating insights about the marine life and ecosystems we encountered along the way.

Not only did Tomas provide a remarkable kayaking experience, but they also prioritized our safety at all times. They were vigilant in monitoring the weather conditions and wind, ensuring that we were always in safe waters. Their professionalism and attention to detail were truly commendable.

In addition to their expertise, Tomas was friendly, approachable, and had a great sense of humor. They created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making the entire trip even more enjoyable. Their enthusiasm and passion for kayaking were contagious, and it was evident that they genuinely love what they do.

I highly recommend Shakayak team for anyone looking to have an incredible kayaking experience in Greece. They will not only provide you with an adventure of a lifetime but also leave you with lasting memories. Thank you, Tomas, for an amazing trip!

I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a kayak adventure with Shakayak and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the professionalism and emphasis on safety demonstrated by the entire team.

Thomas, our guide for the day, was an absolute gem. Not only was he extremely friendly and approachable, but he also possessed a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding areas. As we paddled along, he regaled us with captivating stories about the rich history and breathtaking beauty of the places we encountered.

One of the things that stood out to me the most was the attention to safety throughout the entire journey. Shakayak ensured that all participants were equipped with high-quality kayaks and appropriate safety gear. Even more reassuring was the fact that Thomas meticulously explained safety procedures and demonstrated proper paddling techniques before we set off.

During our adventure, we were treated to an awe-inspiring display of nature's wonder. The landscapes we encountered were simply breathtaking, and Thomas took the time to highlight significant landmarks and share intriguing facts about each location. It was evident that he was genuinely passionate about the environment and eager to educate and inspire us to appreciate its splendor.

In conclusion, my kayak experience with Shakayak exceeded all expectations. The professionalism, safety measures, and the expertise of Thomas made it an unrivaled adventure. I wholeheartedly recommend Shakayak to anyone seeking an unforgettable exploration of stunning landscapes accompanied by an informative and friendly guide.

P.S : Go to Victoria’s cafe near to kayak and try milkshake chocolate...

Fantastic experience. Highly recommended. Many thanks to Shakayak and especially to our guide for taking us to this wonderful adventure. We called Shakayak at the morning and 2 hours later were in the sea. Near 4 hours of kayaking tour in beautiful Aegean sea between Damouchari port and Fakistra beach. Several stops where the guide discover the secrets of east Pelion shore including caves, natural ports, etc... You have a time to swim, don't forget snorkels or goggles, the water is so transparent. Don't worry about the waves, if the weather suddenly changed. Our instructor was close , explained how to paddle in wave sea and we just enjoyed the moment. For part of us it was a first time! Finally you can meet dolphins if you are lucky as we are. There are more surprises that I leave you to discover with Shakayak.
