people who praise this beach are either biased, or haven't seen better in life. first of all, it's not a sandy beach as some comments falsely suggest (apart from a very small section), but generally consists of gravel, which turns into small pebbles as one approaches the water; in some places, pebbles turn into sharp rocks a few meters before the water, meaning that one has to wear sandals literally before entering the sea; however, even then you have to step very carefully as the rocks on the bottom are even worse. but far worse than the beach itself is the sea on this stretch of greek coastline: we've been here for four days so far, and three out of four, the waves were so big all day long, that it makes swimming in the sea almost impossible, except in the mornings! later in day, there's only handful of people swimming, and that's not further than ten-twenty meters off the shore! if you have little children as we do (aged 3 and 1) forget about any fun in the sea... my older child was petrified of even coming close to the water, let alone entering in. and what's the point of being on the seaside, if you can't enter the water to cool down after relaxing and sweating in the sun!? perhaps people who gave five stars to this beach are younger crowd, looking for a fun in bars along the beach, but for us (and i believe many other families in similar position) so far this holiday is not the best we could get! this is my first time in pelion, but if this is indeed the best beach the peninsula has to offer, i won't be coming...
Read moreThe most beautiful beach on this part of the coast, long and wide. The beach is made of small pebbles on the beach itself and when entering the sea. The water is crystal clear except when there are waves which are not rare. The waves can be quite big and you should be careful. There is always an active lifeguard on the beach. At the right end of the beach there are rocks that can be interesting for snorkeling. There are also showers on the beach that don't always work and seem a bit rusty. There is no public toilet on the beach, you have to use the toilet of the local cafes, there are no changing cabins either. You can go down to the beach in a wheelchair. Sunbeds are charged at a price of €7-10 per set (two sunbeds and parasol). Volleyball nets and soccer goals have been installed on the beach. Although the beach is of exceptional beauty, one gets the impression that it is not cleaned enough, there is a lot of garbage and garbage thrown out by the sea. You cannot go down to the beach by car between 11:00 and 20:00. There are several options to park for free near the beach. In the season, all free options are filled, so you can pay for the nearby private parking for 8€ for 12 hours, or elsewhere for...
Read moreGorgeous beach, with crystal clear water! Amazing for swimming, though have in mind that sometimes waves can get pretty big. There is a volleyball and football court, a lot of showers, huge area to put your own umbrellas. If you like to rent sunbeds, there are two options, for the set they charge 7e + drinks (water is not free when you order a coffee). If you’re coming with a car, the best option is to park around Papa Nero camping, a lot of parking space / if you’re not comfortable with parking on the street, there is a private parking (10e for the whole day). Around the beach there are no markets, so if you need to buy something you should do it in Agios Ioannis (10min walk). This beach is a definite...
