A medium-sized complex offering good accommodation. Narrow sandy beach shelving gradually in a wide bay giving opportunity for safe swimming. As we went in October we did experience some stormy weather when the waves were significant but generally it was very calm. Opportunities for very long walks into the countryside. Alykanas has a reasonable range of shops and restaurants. Zante town based around a very large harbour is interesting and we enjoyed visits to museums. It costs €12 for two and you can spend all day on them, which we did. It's a lovely walk in the evening too. You can see Kefalonia in the distance too. The water is crystal blue and you can go quite far out without the water ever going up past the waist. It was lovely looking at all the little fish swimming past your feet. There is also a little convenience store along this stretch so if you need to grab some drinks or ice cream, it's got you covered. There are also a few local restaurants to try out too. Hopefully I can visit...
