The night before we visited this restaurant, one of the waiters was at the entrance and seemed lovely. Very chatty and making a fuss of my 2 year old. Said come here tomorrow you’ll experience something totally different. Decided on this to visit the next evening for dinner.
Well he was right! Worst decision ever!
We were greeted by, I “think” the owner- who was very aggressive in his manner. Thought this was funny at first, however soon discovered whilst ordering our food that he’s just a really rude idiot.
Ordered 3 adult meals as well as appetisers but when it came to ordering for my little one, got shouted at saying no way we don’t do that, that’s from England and we don’t serve that kind of food here! ( it was smily faces and beans- yes I know it’s not exactly adventurous, and it’s not Greek food- but it was for a 2 year old who was hungry and I know he’ll eat it) I pointed out that it was ON THE MENU. To be ranted at about they don’t do it anymore because of covid?! So strange.
So I ordered macaroni cheese instead.
Then we were waiting. And waiting. Meanwhile all the staff were out in the front doing the most pathetic attempt of Greek dancing/ plate smashing I have seen.
Meanwhile my child was getting more and more cranky- he’d already played on the play area they have. Another reason we picked it to keep him entertained. It’s unsafe with a very uneven floor, broken / sharp building blocks and cracked step on the slide.
Eventually the food stared to arrive after what felt like hours but by that time I decided to ask for ours to be boxed up for takeout so I could take my now distraught toddler away from the restaurant, to get away from the rolling eyes and tuts from other diners and staff.
Left my parents there to have their meal and they were back at the hotel within 20 mins as they couldn’t eat their food. Very dry fish/ burgers, wilted salad generally awful food.
Mine wasn’t much better it went straight into the bin after the first mouthful.
In all the times I have been to Zante, I have never ever had a bad meal. Suppose there’s a first time for everything. Lesson learned.
Couldn’t pay me to go...
Read more25th August 2019, having just left restsuarant we can say as a group of 7. Never in 9 years of holidaying in Alykanas have we been served such atrocious food after wziting nearly two hours. This being said what was costrude as food was even passed back to chef as waitressing staff could not identify dish. Staff did product a dance to preoccupy restaurant full of dinners waiting for food. 7 dishes came sporadically after an 1 hour and 47 minute wait. Children hungry tried eat elements on plate. Staff produced more wine to pacifiy adults who repeatedly ask for their food. Bill arrived some food deducted as totally inedible...and believe me i will eat anything...we was charged for gifted bread given as we waited for food. Staff apologised as they said they were unable to cope with orders. At this time no one in restaurant had anyfood to eat...some left and perhaps we should. Avoid at all costs staff seem geniune but avoid restaurant. Time entered restaurant 20.00 food produce just before 21.45. Left at 22.38 wish i'd taken...
Read moreI ordered the chicken fillet with garlic thinking it would be full fillet(s) of chicken with garlic seasoning or garlic butter drizzled over but what I was served were chunks of chicken in sauce (similar in appearance to a curry) and the sauce was pretty much inedible. I love garlic but it must have had about 15 cloves in it, it was so strong. My partner ordered the chicken casserole and this was essentially a bolognese with chicken chunks instead of mince. Quite dry and sauce congealed. The best thing was the garlic bread with cheese we had to start. As a side note we were not hassled to go in which was one of the reasons we chose to go in, but once seated we did see others being hassled to come in which is also off putting. Would...
