I’d like to start by saying that over the past six years, this was our many-th time visiting here. We always came back with a positive feeling because the place’s qualities — both natural and in terms of facilities — have generally been very good. Under normal circumstances, every age group can find activities to enjoy for a whole day.
Compared to that, this time we faced great disappointment: despite trying to gather information beforehand from multiple sources (including social media and the official website), we only learned the actual situation after purchasing our tickets. More than half of the outdoor pools and attractions were not operational, and unfortunately, the indoor areas showed a similar state and level of service.
I find it especially sad and unacceptable that the lady working at the entrance was not instructed to inform arriving guests about the current operational conditions before they bought tickets. At a place that offers paid services, this should be a basic expectation.
We have never considered the ticket price excessive — if the available facilities are actually usable. This was definitely not the case now.

Read moreGenerally a terrible experience. It was just extremely confusing. We entered through a side entrance (though is wasn't advertised as such, we just parked where the maps led us). Buying tickets was quite smooth, the lady behind the desk was speeking a little bit english, so we managed to enter the park. Right off the bat, we had absolutely no idea where to go. The place is quite big and there should be maps everywhere, but we didn't see a single one, so we were blindly searching for a locker room. Finally, after help from two people, we got there. We changed into pool clothes ready to finally start using the park, but we couldn't close the locker. Turns out, the locker is not included in regular ticket. That's simply ridiculous, a water park, where by default you have nowhere to leave your belongings. We decided to just take our backpacks and use some outdoor pools (after 45 minutes of utter confusion). We went to a thermal one, but it was barely lukewarm. We've spent like 10 minutes in the water, then went to see more attractions. When we finally found one that could be fun for us - water slides, it got closed for lunch break (what?). That was the final straw and we just left. On the bright side, I don't think I'll ever be able to make a more disappointing birthday gift. Read moreThe place is in horrible state. Dirty pools, mould, alga, broken tiles. It clearly shows the lack of cleanliness. I’m surprised that this place passed the Health and Safety standards. The attached photos speak for themselves so dear Zalakaros thermal spa headoffice and the arrogant unprofessional person who manages the review responses! If you would take just half of the effort to sort out these serious issues at your place instead of replying unprofessionally and sarcastically to the customers’ negative feedbacks, your business would bloom as I noticed that you clearly cannot digest any criticism!
