A very peaceful place at the coast of west Iceland. There is a short hike up to the lighthouse. The view from up the small hill is extraordinary. You can see the whole city, at the opposite side, you can see islands. The rock formation of the small hill is also marvelous. We were there in February, and the stairs were covered with hard ice. Read moreWe stoped here after we got off our ferry from the Westfjords. It is a nice marked path for a small hike to this lighthouse with steps along the way. Plenty of free parking, some spots say they will tow after 30 minutes but I don’t think you will need more than 30 minutes to make it to the top and down. There is a small walk you can do around the cliffs if you like. At the top you will have a great view of the sea and the town. This one is a cute little spark plug like style set up on a bluff point. It was windy as heck the day we visited and being up there, I cant even begin to imagine the abuse this little light suffers during winter storms.
