It is about 7-8 km from Kaziranga Town in the east on the Highway. Its a very educative and informative as well as most entertaining place full of art, artisans, handicrafts, tribal folk lore and music, dance, Assamese meals. The added attraction is its biodiversity park full of orchids on display as well for sale. Its really a place for unique combination of feast to eyes, ears and the tongue. Brilliant colored and leafed orchids attract you mesmerizingly. The artisans are on at work for their craftmanship displaying weaving of local cloths, sarees and variety of cloths. The veg and non veg limited and non limited cuisines with Assamese and tribal delicacies is available for the gastronomic treats. The meals are enjoyable with folklore music with colorfully dressed up tribals live with drums and local instruments with occasional participation from army amateurs displaying their vocal skills. There is a boating pond also. Additionally there is a hugely created and maintained 101 herbal species used in various parts of country for various dishes and purposes. Further there is a bamboo nursery well managed and groomed with many verities including that used for flute, sticks, timber, building construction, eatable shoots variety and furniture. I visited Kaziranga Orchid Park during my trip to Kaziranga National Park and I was amazed by the variety and beauty of the orchids and other plants displayed there. The park is one of the largest orchid park in India and has many species of wild orchids collected from different parts of Northeast India. Some of the orchids are very rare and unique, and some have not even been named yet. The orchids are kept in a greenhouse, where they bloom in different colors and shapes. The park also has a cactus house, a bamboo garden, a medicinal herb garden, and a rice museum, where I learned about the different types of rice grown in Assam and their cultural significance. The park also has a restaurant, where I tasted some of the delicious and authentic dishes of Assam. The park is not only a showcase of the floral diversity of the region, but also a cultural hub, where I enjoyed the folk dances, music, and handicrafts of the local tribes. The park has a stage, where the performers dressed in traditional costumes and played various instruments, such as drums, flutes, and cymbals. The dances were lively and energetic, and I could feel the spirit and joy of the people. The park also has a handicrafts museum, where I saw the exquisite workmanship of the artisans, who made baskets, mats, hats, and other items from bamboo, cane, and jute1

I visited the Kaziranga National Orchid and Biodiversity Park recently. This is one of the best Orchid cum botanical garden in the entire Northeast. The park is well maintained and is very neat and clean. You can find different species of rare flowers and plants in this garden. Just near the entrance there is the Orchid house where various species of wild orchids collected from different parts of Northeast are kept in a green house for public display. There is a museum showcasing the rich cultural aspects of Assam. There is also a cactus garden where you can find varieties of cactuses - large and small which is a treat to watch. The bamboo garden has around 70 varieties of bamboos. There is also a food court which serves authentic Assamese cuisines and other food items. There is an open air stage where you can witness live performances of traditional dances of the Northeast. It is a child friendly venue with kids play area available. In addition to it it also has a boating zone where you can enjoy a beautiful boat ride with your family. In all a must visit if you are in Assam.
