Lovely place. But, lacks the charm that a hotel outside city limits, in the middle of a forest or natural environment. (Like Vivanta in Coorg..) Excellent inside the hotel Buffet ( dinner, breakfast) has a variety of food to cater to different palate . Better to go with north Indian food than South Indian tiffin items like idli, dosa, Pongal etc. Curd is fresh and good. Amongst the desserts, moong dal halwa and banana coffee delight are worth a mention. Service is good. Staff are friendly and polite. Lotus in the garden outside are so big and brilliant . Rooms are nice, view outside is limited to a normal city view. Fan may be good to have in the room, though the airconditioning is good. Cons: Bathroom with a bathtub should not be given to senior citizens. For one, the height of the tub is too much to climb. One has to be extremely careful not to slip while climbing into the tub. Check-in time of 2 pm ( though it's pretty much standard in the 5 star hotels) is a little late, considering the fact that the direct flight arrival time from Mumbai is before 10 am Overall, pros outweigh the cons. Have an enjoyable stay in Vivanta by Taj, Guwahati On returning back from Shillong, we stayed at Vivanta again. Very pleasantly surprised to get a free upgrade to the suite. Suites, not only had bathtubs, but also shower rooms. Yay. Extra restroom. Humongous rooms. TV in all the rooms. Just like the previous stay, courteous staff, good food spread. Thanks to Leesha, found my charger, which I had left 3 days back in the room. And this time, the suites had good outside view. I couldn't find any cons, but for a very minor one. This is not only in Vivanta, but almost all the star hotels. The switchboard near the bed and the shower panel have markers or writings in the same colour, very small letters. I normally take a photo of the panel and zoom it on my phone to read.đ I, once again thank everyone of Vivanta staff for their courteous service.đ

I recently had the pleasure of revisiting Vivanta by Taj in Guwahati, and I must say, my second experience surpassed all expectations. My initial stay was decent, but this time around, I was blown away by their exceptional hospitality. From the moment I walked in, the check-in process was seamless, making me feel immediately at ease. The morning breakfast spread was not just a meal but an indulgence, offering a delightful array of options to suit every palate. The unexpected treat of a tarot card reading, provided as a complimentary service, added a unique touch to my stay, leaving me pleasantly surprised. The attention to detail in every aspect of service was commendable. Whether it was the prompt and efficient room service or the exquisite in-room dining experience, Vivanta ensured a level of comfort and satisfaction that was unparalleled. The fragrance of lilies in the lobby added a subtle yet elegant touch, complementing the serene garden just outside the hotelâan oasis of tranquility in the bustling city. Moreover, their knowledge about the small things mattered; they even knew about the bath salts! I remember inquiring about them during my stay at another hotel, The Lalit, and the staff seemed clueless. Vivantaâs staff not only knew about it but also provided them promptly, enhancing the overall luxurious experience. All these aspects, coupled with their consistently excellent service, leave me with no choice but to give Vivanta by Taj a well-deserved 5-star rating. Theyâve set a benchmark in hospitality that few can match, ensuring a memorable and delightful stay every time.

Most disappointing from Taj Booked a 2 day stay through their mail link - celebratory offer. Was supposed to include a celebratory arrival drink and a room celebration for my birthday. Goof ups 1. Booking itself was cancelled !! When I landed there. The staff at the checkin clearly saying so to whomever she was talking to. 2. The drink was a standard shot glass drink of lemon syrup and water. REALLY Taj is that all !!! 3. Checked out after 2 days - nothing about the room celebration - not even a card and flower saying âhappy birthdayâ let alone a celebration. 4. One week later no feedback mail. 5. 72 hrs after giving a feed back not a pip squeak from them!! I canât believe Taj has fallen to this level. The only grace they gave me 20% off on the food. The room was clean and per other Taj places Iâve stayed. Room service impeccable. Breakfast buffet - nothing extraordinary to speak of. Octave bar - the disappointing collection of rum was partly covered up by the enthusiasm of the bar tender. The chicken snack was horrible ( tasted like something made 2 days ago and warmed up) The second day he managed to get a clear chicken soup though not on the menu ( turned out the chicken was literally like powder at the bottom of the bowl!!!!!) Parking : adequate Pool : looks well kept and attended to - did not use. 10 days later - the booking does not appear in my login / and to top it no point at all for all that spend on the Neu App !!!!!

The Vivanta Guwahati, I was quite disappointed but not surprised to be so. It is very expensive property and famous for being a "5 starred" hotel. But experience was far off from being a 5 star. The decoration for most of the hotel is very good but once you enter the restaurant Umami, the decoration stops. The tables very poorly maintained and not decorated at all. The table we sat was hold up by a piece of PAPER! A 5 star hotel's table is held up by a piece of paper? And to add more irritation, the floor made a horrible noise every time anybody walked on it. The Food: Food is nothing to write about, it was just okay for a road side restaurant not for a hotel of this stature. The menu was very restrictive but the staff was courteous and allowed us to order off the menu. Among the dishes we ordered Dal was very good other than that everything was sort of okay-ish. Weird thing: The bizarre thing was the reluctance of the staff to offer us new spoons and forks after we had use the earlier stock while having the appetizers. Very weird. Overall it was a very disappointing experience.

Excellent stay and experience at Taj Vivanta ... Was in Guwahati for a business trip and stayed at the Taj for a couple of days. The check in process was smooth, but a tad understaffed during peak hours post noon. The rooms were very clean and well done with Assamese art all around. The bathroom was well stocked too with essential toiletries ... Unfortunately, the hair dryer cannot be used in the bathroom as it is 2 pin and wont fit into 3 pin wall socket;use a pencil to force it in ! Albeit a tad small for a family with kids, it's nevertheless good for solo business travelers. The room has a safe, iron stand and box, bath slippers, etc. The rooms were also refreshed with fruits every day. They have a restaurant at the lobby levels called Seven, it's ordinary food typical of the star hoteles. But will suffice. Also the front desk is very cooperative and friendly. We had to go for meeting early in the morning before the breakfast could be set up, so they packed us complementary sandwiches, fruits and muffins to take out ... Really appreciate that! Highly recommend the hotel...

My family and I recently enjoyed a delightful two-night stay at Vivanta Guwahati. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the cordial staff, whose attentiveness and professionalism set the tone for our visit. The hotel itself is a beautiful blend of modern luxury and traditional charm, offering spacious, well-appointed rooms that provided the perfect retreat after a day of exploring the vibrant city. The dining experience was exceptional, with a variety of delicious cuisines that catered to every palate. The facilities, including the pool and fitness center, were immaculate and added to the overall enjoyment of our stay. Special thanks to the staff for their exemplary service and hospitality, which truly made our stay memorable. Their genuine care and attention to detail ensured that we felt comfortable and well-cared for throughout our visit. Vivanta Guwahati has earned our highest recommendation, and we look forward to returning in the future.
