About 6-7 years back, the lake was full of water(with a small section filled with water weeds) and less polluted..more fishermen could be seen in the morning for a good catch..used to go near periphery of lake to see migratory birds during sunrise hour or sunset...Nowadays as the surrounding localities are filled with apartments - big and small, water is polluted (as seen in the area where sluice gates are being built)..only 1-2 fishermen venture in their coracles..also the LDA seemed to have done a check sometime back but that's just it..no further response..it's full of weeds and literally drying up ..if this lake is saved, it could turn out to be as good spot similar to the lakes in Sarjapur(kaikondranahalli) or Hebbal for people of all ages..with proper fencing, a walking track could be made, a small park for children could ensure a change of place for them..boating could be introduced and fun festivals could be held around the lake, best of all migratory birds could come back every year if lake again fills up with water...Wish the concerned authorities fund and help rejuvenate the lake to turn it into a nice place for locals..hoping the best...
