Dear Chef Saha & Team at Lyfe Farm to Fork Restaurant & Pizzeria,
I pen this review with a heavy heart and a sense of responsibility.
Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by your wife, Shruti, and we enjoyed a pleasant conversation, reminiscing about past dining experiences. This set the tone for an evening we hoped would be memorable. Unfortunately, the following culinary journey did not align with the high standards we have come to associate with your name.
Avocado on Sourdough Toast (7/10): A dish with potential, yet the avocado lacked the desired ripeness and creaminess. While the bacon met expectations, pre-packaged Hemp Heart Trail Mix was a surprising choice for an establishment priding itself on freshness and originality.
Steamed Dumplings (3/10): This dish fell notably short of the mark. The dim sum lacked the finesse and flavour I have encountered in other Asian restaurants. There may be a need for more focused expertise in this culinary area.
Chicken & Egg Caesar Salad (6/10): Substituting iceberg lettuce for romaine was a disappointing deviation from the classic recipe, affecting the overall taste profile. The chicken and egg components failed to add notable excitement to the dish.
Crispy Coconut, Prawn & Pineapple Salad (8/10): This dish was enjoyable, with the Thai flavours coming through nicely, though it did not surpass similar dishes I've had elsewhere.
Signature Ricotta Stuffed Morels (0/10): I appreciate the complexities of preparing morels, especially given their potential toxicity if not handled correctly. Using rehydrated morels instead of fresh ones raises questions about the sourcing and preparing ingredients. This experience was deeply unsettling, particularly given the premium price and the restaurant's reputation for using fresh produce. Sadly, it seems there was a gap here in both sourcing and training, which led to a severe case of food poisoning that left me incapacitated for several days. This incident was not only physically debilitating but deeply concerning, considering the expertise expected at a restaurant of your calibre.
Furthermore, my attempt to address this serious issue with your team was met with indifference. Despite informing a staff member (Agnes) of my condition and requesting a follow-up, I received no response or acknowledgement from the management or stakeholders, starkly contrasting the warm hospitality I've experienced in your other establishments.
While the Porcini and Mixed Mushroom Risotto (I requested this accompaniment instead of the Saffron Polenta) served as a commendable accompaniment, the overall experience was irrevocably marred by the health risks presented in the dish. It is with regret that I must convey my disappointment, both in terms of culinary execution and the handling of a critical health concern.
Pan Roasted King Prawn (6/10): The prawn was satisfactory, but the Spaghetti Aglio Olio lacked authenticity due to regular cooking instead of high-quality olive oil.
Signature Tiramisu (7/10): A decent attempt, but it fell short of the exceptional deconstructed version previously offered at Caperberry.
Rendition of Lemon (3/10): This dessert seemed stale, likely due to prolonged refrigeration, and did not meet expectations in terms of freshness and flavour.
Apple Pie to Die for (6/10): An average rendition of a classic dessert. The freshness was questionable, likely due to display storage.
In conclusion, the overall food quality was passable (6.5/10).
The distressing incident of food poisoning and the lack of follow-up from your team after I reached out significantly marred our experience. The evening was far from the high standards I have experienced at your other establishments. I hoped to see a reflection of your culinary excellence and attention to detail, but instead, I am left with disappointment and concern.
I write this not out of spite but hoping it serves as constructive feedback. I sincerely wish to see Lyfe Farm to Fork Restaurant & Pizzeria reach the heights of your previous...

Read moreLyfe gets many things right: the choice between of menu items, not too many, distinctive choices ie morels, as also quality of dough for pizza and its baking. But, surprisingly and coincidentally, gets the same things wrong as previous restaurants in that location: The dumplings were heavily spices and served with hot chutney. As no country was mentioned, I will presume these were from some nondescript South east nation. Many diners live locally and know the differences and not having soy sauce informs me that it is not from Guizhou or Shanghai but have chilli sauce means it is from Sichuan Revamp the dessert menu. Does not work. Despite show and tell on tiramisu which I found annoying because he ends up slathering whipped cream (Eesh!) anyway
EDITTED AGAIN (April 2): Went now with my corporate team. (a) The Tiramisu Must go. It is an embarrassment b) There was a LOT of attention and hard work by your brilliant staff, please refuse teams that need to go , order and leave for work. This place needs a couple of hours c) Do not see a reason for having green chilli in avocado but I like those sandwiches just don’t find it on-brand
Either way, many of us are vegans, few choices, the sole Italian in my team was there and did not like Tiramisu The pizza is - Fabulous
Some innovations that use more local food ie greens, Bean pastes, roast local veg, nuts, use of fruit in spicy foods ie anything to maximize the local food would be good. Else the concept of farm to table is dubious without regulatory definitions (and I know...
