Sonajhuri Forest also known as 'Sonajhuri haat' or 'Khoai er haat' or 'Shonibaar er haat' is one of most famous tourist destination in West Bengal. It is situated in Bolpur-Santiniketan, Birbhum district 5km away from Bolpur-Santiniketan railway station. It is such a beautiful forest that your frustrations, moroseness, anxiety will be banished by its beauty. Especially in late winter and spring it's beauty reaches the topmost level. In this forest a temporary market or 'haat' has been happening from more than 100 years mainly in Saturday; but for tourist attraction some traders come here other days of the week also. Mainly the local handicrafts, cotton wears made by mostly by the tribes are sold here in a reasonable price; but you have to bargain đ. If you are planning to visit Santiniketan then the forest and also the 'haat' should be in your list. The main attraction of this place is the tribal dance and 'khoai'. So please come here and feel the eternal peace and beauty of this place mainly in spring (in Holi or Dolyatra). Thank you very much. Do like and follow my profile so that you can get more information about the places I review.

Heritage, culture and ethnicity of West Bengal is exclusively evident at the SONAJHURI MARKET" located within Shanitiniketan. It depicts and displays the exquisite expertise talent of the local artisans. Hand weaved clothes, Terra cotta statues and beautifully hand crafted products along with wooden carvings of explicit beauty is available here. The best thing about the products are that they are reasonably priced and bargaining may be to an extent of a maximum of 15% because there are huge number of sellers. At some of the places, the prices are fixed. So if one is a game for cultural wear, the sarees, shirts t-shirts and kurtas are a must try. A great place to be within the cultural diversity of our Country. The local *ADIVASI DANCE* and SONG is absolutely captivating and a must to be enjoyed by one and all.
