The great thing about the placement of this place for which it was chosen. It was made compulsory to choose an AC room (no issues). But even after booking it in advance payment and first thing you notice while checking in when you turn on the fan that dirt falls on your bed from curtains, it certainly depress you. Infact the room was so full of dust (curtains, side tables for example) that spending the night in AC (which is a noisy old one) that it will be a nightmare to spend in a dusty closed room. Next night turning off that AC and opening all windows made it a lot better (in that case a mosquito repellent is advised here). So what's the point for paying for a AC room!! Clearly, the room wasn't being maintained properly (also evident from plenty of ants, couple of cockroach and few spiders in bathroom) but It was supposed to be cleaned properly before handing over the key as it was booked a month ago with full payment. We are not complaining for the food prices as the cooking was great (may be considered overpriced) but a option of refilling water should be there rather than selling packaged water(only 1 lit bottles), adding plastic wastes as water of Birbhum is not bad at all. Overall if these things can be taken care of it will be a perfect place to spent your weekend to enjoy the nature in as it is a well built place, with perfect location and warm...
Read moreWe visited first week of Feb 2019 and took non AC rooms in Prokriti Bon Bunglow. Rooms are very small and not well ventilated. There is a constant smell of sewerage in the room and we need to keep door open and in turn woo away mosquito from entering our room. Property location is good however non AC rooms are not good. We did not enjoyed our stay here. Food at this venue is very costly. Mineral water 1 ltr cost 25 which is 5 rupees more than MRP. 4 puri and potato curry in small plate cost 60. 4 pcs small size bread with butter and one egg cost 50. Rice one portion cost 30. Plain daal cost 20. Aloo bhaja cost 40. Ruti each cost 6. Mixed Veg in small plate cost 55. Fish thali cost 180. Egg thali cost 180. Thali consists of rice one portion, dal, sabji, salad and fish or egg. Food is costly but quality is standard. No wow factor. Rather someone can shell out some money and go to Banalakshi and have food there which is no doubt excellent, however you need to make a prior booking one day in advance. Also if you plan to visit Srijan Silpa Gram during lunch hours, you can have food there as well which is very reasonable. Toto is the most reasonable means of travel within the town and you need to bargain to get a good deal. Must see Museum, University, Saturday...
Read moreWell..if you are looking for a resting place far from the madding crowd..and if you can compromise with the lack of some basic inconvenience..then you can think of this place.. Its situated in the outskirts of bolepur..at the backside of Sonajhuri forest.. We stayed at Room no 8..a double bed room with A.C..first of all ..its in the first floor facing the canteen..and the forest..the location is excellent..you will get 24 hr..hot water in the washroom through gysr. The room is enough for just 2 people...the bed cannot accomodate more than 2 adult. The curtains are really shabby and dust covered..even they don't provide any toilet soap.. Now..comes Food..well..they provide either bread omlette or Puri sabji(4 large pieces of puri) for breakfast. ..in lunch not much option is there Veg thali(Rice, daal, bringal fry, cauliflower and potato curry,chatni..yoghurt)..you can add fish ..egg or chicken with it...the food tasted good ..we had chapatis and chilli chicken for dinner. The alarming thing is their calousness in handling food..the chowmein contained egg chicken..and Hair and plastic bits as ingredients.. The staff were co -operative..over all the property nreds to be maintained properly..cleanliness and hygiene should be...
