The historical place "Tin Pahar".
It's basically an ancient banian tree. Which is not accessible by visitors. A boundary wall of wire mess has been fixed arround it. Visitors may come here, they may experience the beautiful creation from outside the boundary. It is another tourist attraction point of the Tagore place, Shantiniketan. Any one may reach Tin Pahar from Bolepur railway station or Jamboni Bus stop with the help of Toto.
There are many rumors arround the old banian tree. Most of Toto drivers say this tree was planted by Rabindranath Tagor. But actually Maharshi Devendranath Thakur, fathar of Rabindranath Thakur planted this banian tree. Earlier there was a pond in this place and the soil of the pond was laid in three steps. Due to which Maharshi Devendranath Thakur named it Tin Pahar. And the giant banian tree is surrounding the place. Now the ancient giant tree and the three steps are visible to all. And this place is famous on the name of Tin Pahar.
Many says Tagore has written many poem and songs by sitting under this baniyan tree. The famous poem "HAT (হাট)" was written at this place. Although this information is not verified.

But, he couldn't do that because of very hard soil. During the monsoon of 1956-57, walls of the Dwarika building (now not existing) collapsed. The pond was filled with the soil from the broken walls. The help of soil took the shape of a hill and it was named as Tinpahar. In his childhood, Rabindranath brought stones from the Khoai to decorate Tinpahar. It is mentioned in his poem "Khoai".
