Ceratopteris thalictroides (L.) Brongniart a Fern naturally grew in this garden. The Botanical Garden in Noida is a vast expanse of lush green garden packed with a plethora of most exclusive plants in the country. The garden perfectly epitomises Mother Nature in its best form with the serene surroundings and rare species of plants and flowers. This beautiful garden started in the year 2002, houses a primitive plant called Psilotum Nudum meaning 'bare naked' in Latin. It is said to be a descendant of probably one of the first group of vascular plants found 400 million years ago. The Botanical Garden is set by the Botanical Survey of India under the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India to conserve the endangered plants of India and showcase the threatened plant diversity. A paradise for nature lovers, Noida's Botanical Garden aims at preserving natural and environmental beauty. The place is a must on your Noida itinerary if you are a nature enthusiast.

The vast expanse of Botanical Garden houses a plethora of plants, flowers and vegetation which are a sight to sore eyes. Here, you can enjoy the presence of a relic growing here namely Equisetum Hyemale or Horsetail dated over 145 million years ago during Jurassic or Dinosaur era. Green roses, 250 varieties of medicinal plants and vast fruit section are some other plants the garden boasts of. A jogging track encircles the perimeter of the garden making it a favourite spot among early risers for a quick morning exercise routine. The Botanical Garden is a perfect place to visit with family and friends for a short outing, jogging and...

Located next to the Botanical Garden metro station, this garden is spread over many acres with lush greenery and a wide variety of native flora in the region. If you are a nature lover, you will definitely love the peace out there; it is, I must say, a nice place to spend your evening. This can be a perfect picnic spot for families, but in the winter, keeping cleanliness in mind, it would be nice to carry your own garbage bag. Summers would be a bit harsh to explore the gardens. You will find several signs to guide you about the gardens designated for specific varieties. The medicinal plant section is well divided and marked for various diseases. Considering the beauty of the gardens, this place is quite underestimated, and I strongly suggest it should be on your to-be-explored list if you are in Noida. The gardens are well maintained, and the staff is cooperative too. I would say that with the support of the government, this garden will definitely attain its objective of securing plant diversity for the well-being of people and the planet. It’s a huge space, and the government should look into this in order to make it a successful project. There is no entry fee. Opens from Monday to Friday.

Beyond the gate, on the right spreads the Rose Garden; then, further on, there is a Cactus Garden, and two greenhouses (these were closed when we visited). Off to the left, just under the Metro Line overhead, there are flowerpots and flowerbeds, flowering trees and bushes (we visited in late March, so the colours of spring were in evidence). Beyond this lies the bulk of the botanical gardens: large sections of Economic Trees; Fruit Trees; a Lotus Pond (dry when we visited) and a small garden of herbs used in Ayurveda. The place seems very neglected. There were straggling and overgrown plants and grass everywhere (especially unsightly in the 'garden' area), the spring flowers were half wilted and dead, and on most trees the signs with the tree names had either fallen off or got broken or faded. Despite that, though, this was an enjoyable place for our family, since all of us love trees and nature. Besides all the fascinating trees in the Economic Trees garden, we appreciated the many birds and insects we saw. Worth visiting if you are interested in trees, in particular. Wear thick trousers or jeans and sturdy walking shoes, and carry drinking water. No entry fee is charged.

A Green Oasis in Noida - Botanic Garden of Indian Republic! The Botanic Garden of Indian Republic in Noida is a fantastic escape for nature lovers and anyone seeking tranquility amidst the urban sprawl. This vast, well-maintained garden is a true green lung, offering a refreshing break from city life. You'll find an impressive diversity of plant species here, from medicinal plants to rare ancient flora like Psilotum Nudum and Equisetum Hyemale, making it a treat for plant enthusiasts and curious minds alike. The sprawling lawns and walking paths are perfect for a leisurely stroll, a morning jog, or simply unwinding amidst nature's beauty. It's also a popular spot for birdwatching. While some areas might need a bit more upkeep to truly shine, the overall experience is very positive. The garden offers a peaceful and serene environment, ideal for families, friends, or even solo contemplation. With easy access via the Botanical Garden Metro Station (a major interchange), it's a convenient and budget-friendly outing. Highly recommended for a dose of fresh air, beautiful greenery, and a connection with nature!
