Deltin Denzong | Casino in Sikkim — Attraction in Development Area

The Deltin Denzong is a popular casino in Gangtok and does attract a sizable crowd of patrons to the casino floor.

We were a group of four who dropped in sometime after 9pm (got delayed due to heavy downpour). We had to wait close to 20mins to check in and pay for our package as there was another group in front of us that was being processed by the staff.

The game floor has a counter where you pay cash in exchange for coins that you can then use at the game tables. The same counter also cashes out your coins in the end. At the table, you can order your choice of alcohol (as per package; they give you a wrist band for identification) and snacks. As long as you are playing, you can continue to order alcohol and snacks. From time to time, performers come on as part of the entertainment experience.

The biggest disappointment of the night was the dinner. It was around 11:30 when we headed to the restaurant and most of the food trays were either empty or close to empty. I guess that could be attributed to the time as the kitchen would be closing by then.

Kindly note they do provide complimentary pickup and drop service so commuting to and from the casino is not a hassle. Also - photography on the casino floors is not permitted.

Although their website advertises a "celestial experience consisting of fascinating blend of opulence, dazzling entertainment and gourmet cuisine" the overall experience felt...

Used to be a regular but will never visit again because of CASINO DELTIN IS A MAJOR RIP OFF . I must say that the the Denzong Heritage Hotel and it's staff which house the casino are perfect but the casino is nothing but a legalised way to fleece customers.I have been a regular and have always found the senior management as brusque to the point of rudeness.The final straw was on Saturday night when they refused to give me a cigarette and even refused to give or get some on payment.I had hardly started playing and walked out because of this attitude.While walking out,when I told the manager that the Rs 3500.00 that I had paid for entry had been a sheer waste , his expression was blank as if to say that they really couldn't care less and even when I said that I was going to Casino Mahjong in Mayfair because of their attitude,he was least bothered and did not even try to extend an apology or make amends..If they treat regulars like me in this manner , I shudder to think what they must be doing with new guests. NEVER GO THERE.PLEASE VISIT MAYFAIR or THE ROYAL PLAZA if you want to visit a casino BUT...

We went on a weekday, not much of a crowd, so we were taken care of to an extremely high level. Let me explain, the starters are unlimited for the entry fees, but it comes as a couple of pieces instead of a plate, that's ok, but anywhere you go and sit, someone would literally carry the stool near you with your drinks and snacks. This is good, but what it entails, you keep eating, drinking, and most importantly gambling. I didn't do much of gambling, eating or drinking... So I didn't lose a lot of money but I didn't get my money's worth. I'm not telling if this was a good or a bad thing, just explaining how it was, but you decide if you want to go or not. Also, for the smokers, they don't provide cigarettes, so buy yours when you go, there is a cramped smoking room in the casino hall, or go downstairs to the parking area...
