Ambaji is at an altitude of 480 m. The shrine of Shri Amba is regarded as a revered shrine by the Shakta Shaktism sect of Hinduism attracting millions of devotees every year. It is believed that the Heart of Sati Devi has fallen here however not mentioned in any puran . The origin of the Shakti Peetha status temple is from Daksha yaga and Sati's self immolation. Shakti Peethas were believed to have been formed when the body parts of the corpse of Sati Devi fell into different regions when Lord Shiva carried her corpse in sorrow after her death. The shrines are considered as highly revered by Shaivist (Shaivism) sect in Hinduism. The Shakti Peethas are mostly worshiped by tantra practitioners. Ambaji Mata Temple is a pilgrimage site visited by millions of devotees during the week of the Bhadarvi Poonam fair. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. The temple of Aṁbājī is of no special archeological interest. In the garbhagr̥ha there is a crevice in the wall of the mother goddess. Ambaji temple is a major Shakti Pith of India and being worshipped since pre-Vedic time. This is located in Banaskantha district in North Gujarat near the border of Rajasthan and surrounded by Aravali Hill Range. It is believed that the heart of Sati Devi fell here. The Shakti Piths have been formed when the body parts of the corpse of Sati Devi fell into different regions when Lord Shiva carried her corpse in sorrow after her death. Gabbar Hill, Koteshwar Temple and Kumbhariya are some of the pilgrim places in Ambaji besides the main Temple of Arasuri Amba Mata. The temple is surrounded by open square which is also known as Chachar Chowk, where Havans (ceremonial sacrifices) are performed. Many people don’t know that there is no idol of Amba Mata in the temple. Instead there is a Gokh on the wall on which Viso Yantra with a Vedic text is inscribed. However, the upper portion of the Gokh is decorated in such a way that it looks like an idol from the distance. We see on the back side another temple of Amba Mata on the Gabbar, which is the original abode of Amba Mata. We were lucky enough this time to have Darshan from very near from Garbh Gruh. The priest also performed little Puja and gave us prasad and Mata’s Chundadi. We felt so much energized and blessed after Darshan. This was my last stop in this pilgrimage of holy places like Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mathura, Vrundavan and Pushkar. Ambe Mat ki Jay!

Ambaji's temple is situated atop the Arasur mountain in the Aravalli range near the Gujarat-Rajasthan border, which is one of the oldest temples in the country. This temple is about twelve hundred years old. This white marble temple is very grand. The spire of the temple is 103 feet high. The peak is made of gold. Which enhances the beauty of the temple. Devotees from foreign countries also come here to have darshan. This temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths, where the heart of Mother Sati fell. This temple is also a Shaktipeeth but it is slightly different from other temples. Mata Amba is worshiped in this temple by worshiping Sriyantra which cannot be seen with the naked eye. The priest here adorns this Sriyantra so spectacularly that the devotees feel as if Mother Ambaji is actually present here. It is with him that the holy continuous flame burns, which is said to never be extinguished. It is believed that this temple is about 1200 years old. Gabbar Pahar, 3 km from Ambaji's temple, is also famous for Mata Amba's footprints and chariot symbols. Devotees who have darshan of the Mother come to this mountain to see the footprints of the Mother and the marks of the chariot of the Mother made on the stone. It is said about the Ambaji temple that Lord Shri Krishna's rite of shaving was completed here. There Lord Rama has also come here to worship Shakti. A large number of devotees come here to have a darshan of the mother during Navratri festival. At this time, Shakti is worshiped by garba in the plank of the temple

I have always been an avid supporter of train journeys. My involvement with train journeys began in childhood. I live in Lucknow and from here I have undertaken many train journeys. Furthermore, since childhood, I have paid several visits to the hill station of Almora to meet my relatives. Almora is a hill station located in the state of Uttarakhand. Most noteworthy, Almora is situated in the Himalayan mountain region. Due to this, trains cannot travel directly to Almora. Consequently, Kathgodam is the last town station accessible by trains before the mountain range begins.

The trip from Lucknow to kathgodam is quite a lively experience. I have always ensured the reservation of my seats beforehand. So, my train journey begins from Lucknow railway station. As the train undergoes motion and leaves the Lucknow railway station, my excitement begins to rise. Moreover, as the train gathers speed, a thrilling feeling overtakes me.

My train journey from Lucknow to Kathgodam is probably 8-10 hours duration. However, I enjoy every minute of it in spite of the journey being so long. Furthermore, all along the journey, one can purchase items of food and drinks. I almost always purchase meals and refreshments at least twice in the journey.

When slumber overtakes me, I make use of the sleeping berth. I personally find sleeping on the train berth very comfortable. When I wake after a deep sleep, mountains are visible from a distance. Moreover, as the train approaches Kathgodam with menacing speed, the view of mountains gets bigger and bigger. Also, my amusement greatly rises as I see the Himalayas draw closer. Finally, as the train stops at Kathgodam, my delightful train journey comes to an end.
