🔹Very divine experiences . 🔹Very clean temple. Area around the temple is very big , beautiful and clean. It's a SWAYAMBHU SHIVALING. Here the trustees tried to make cealing three times ( the central dome ). But it broke after, every time. So now there is no dome exactly on the SHIVLING. In the afternoon the sunrays directly fall on this SHIVLING ( TADAKO ,in gujarati language ) so the name of the temple is TADAKA + ISHWAR = TADAKESHWAR. 🔹Here even who believe in lord Shivaji , can go for marriage ceremony also. There is an area on the south of the temple , where marriage ceremony with around 150 people can be done. 🔹In this temple , other than Mahadev Shivaling , ma Parvatimata , Shree Ganapati bappa , Shree Hanuman dada , Shree Baliya dev , ma Shitala devi idols are there. 🔹On the south side of the temple is a river called Vanki Nadi. 🔹Big parking area is available. 🔹Washroom out side the temple compound is available. 🔹Very beautiful greenary and garden is around the temple. 🔹There slides, swings , see saw and many more for the children to play. 🔹There are CCTV cameras for the safety.

Tadkeshwar Mahadev Temple is a peaceful and spiritual place surrounded by nature. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is famous for its unique open roof where sunlight falls directly on the Shivling. The atmosphere is calm and filled with devotion, making it a great spot for meditation and prayer. Surrounded by greenery and tall trees, the temple feels refreshing and divine. Visitors often feel a sense of positivity and peace here. It is a perfect place to visit with family and friends to experience both spirituality and natural beauty. A must-visit for Shiva devotees.

Tadkeshwar Mahadev Temple is truly a hidden gem in Gujarat. The open-roof design is fascinating—sunlight directly falls on the Shivling, creating a divine atmosphere that's hard to describe in words. The entire temple radiates peace and spirituality. It’s clean, well-maintained, and surrounded by lush greenery, especially beautiful during monsoon. The calmness here is perfect for meditation or just soaking in the vibes. Definitely one of the most serene Shiva temples I’ve ever visited. A must-visit if you’re near Valsad!

"Tadkeshwar Mahadev Temple" is a tourist attraction in the coastal region of Valsad. Lovely play area for children with garden is also there. The temple is located at the distance of 2 k.m on the south-west side of village valsad-abrama. It is very popular temple in valsad & one of the oldest temple in valsad same as the parnera's "Mataji's Temple". This temple is 800 years or may be older. Lord shiva's statue was found when one person who was villager and he went with his cows & buffalows into the jungle, located at the shore of river vanki. During that time one cow got diverted from the group and went inside the jungle, where the cow suddenly stopped and started giving milk automatically. The villager who saw this scene was shocked. Next day he went there with his fellow villagers and started digging at the same spot, after sometime noise came from that place.Everybody present where shocked to see one big stone at that place. After this, one night one old man saw a dream in which god shiva said that the stone that they found is mine & a ling, and also said that if he try to take it out then it will be light in weight like a flower. Afterwards they decided to built a wall having height of 2 to 3 feet around the ling and cover the ceiling with glass, but one day fire took place and the ceiling was completely burned though there was no such thing which can cause fire. So after that 3 times they have tried and same thing happened and hence since last 10 years the ceiling of the temple is not built and only side walls were constructed. The radius of ceiling which is opened is around 20 feet. The shivling that was found has the length of 6 to 8 feet and is famous in India. So from the history of this temple many people say that "One who worship in this temple with his heart will surely get whatever he/she want". The parking area is huge and also very nicely maintained temple. The trust is taking good care of the temple and so are the surrounding buildings...

India is full of surprises, beautiful monuments, palace, forts and temples etc. I’d visited one such amazing temple, Tadkeshwar Mahadev Temple, during our road trip to Gujarat, few months back, and it was a divine experience.

Tadkeshwar Mahadev temple, located near Abrama town in Valsad district of the Indian state of Gujarat, is more than 800 years old.

A 6 feet 10 inches (2.08 m) semi-circuler Shivlinga type stone was seen in the bushes of the north bank of Wanki river in May 1215. During that time, this stone was taken by the local people who partially broke it down. Poisonous wasps swarmed from the stone and stung around 60 people within a 1500 ft radius of the temple. All 60 died and were buried on the temple site. The Dargah was created on the site.

One day Lord Shiva appeared in the dreams of a devotee of Abrama and commanded: Take the linga from the bank of Wanki river. Two of Lord Shiva's devotees can pick it up easily. When the linga becomes too heavy, set it down and keep the linga on that place and build the temple there.

The temple ceiling was built twice, first time the ceiling was destroyed in a fire. The second time, the ceiling collapsed. Lord Shiva appeared in the dreams of one devotee and said: I am Tadkeshwar Mahadev. I need the Rays of Sun. Therefore, do not reconstruct the ceiling of the temple. The peak of the temple remains open to the sky, featuring a hole about 22 feet (6.7 m) in diameter. At noon, the rays of the Sun shine directly on the Shivlinga. So, it’s known as "Tadkeshwar".

On the occasions of the Maha Shivaratri festival and Shravan Month, a fair take place nearby.

Har Har...
