Giani Da Dhaba — Attraction in Himachal Pradesh

I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to dine at Giani Da Dhaba, and I must say it was a truly disappointing experience from start to finish. Despite the hype surrounding this place, I found the overall dining experience to be lackluster and underwhelming.

I was expecting an authentic and flavorsome Punjabi cuisine experience. Unfortunately, Giani Da Dhaba failed to deliver on this front as well. The dishes lacked the traditional spices and flavors that one would expect from a reputable Punjabi restaurant. The portions were disappointingly small, and the presentation was uninspiring.

To make matters worse, the prices at Giani Da Dhaba were exorbitant for the subpar dining experience they offered. The high prices were completely unjustified considering the underwhelming food and lackluster service. I felt like I was being taken advantage of as a customer, paying a premium for a dining experience that fell far short of expectations.

Overall, I cannot recommend Giani Da Dhaba to anyone looking for an authentic and satisfying Punjabi dining experience. The lackluster service, subpar food quality, and unjustified prices make it a regrettable choice. Save your money and seek out other establishments that truly embrace the flavors and essence of Punjabi cuisine. Giani Da Dhaba simply doesn't live up...

I have been travelling on this route for about 4 decades now but got the chance to dine-in here for the first time (October 2021) 😊. Located on the Kalka-Shimla Highway, just before the main town of Dharampur from Kalka, said to be a popular dhaba and about 44-46 years old, this time I made a point to be here for atleast one major meal. The Dhaba serves both Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian food of Punjabi & North Indian Taste and style. My major disappointment was on two counts: Due to heavy footfall, the food quality is being compromised as the name and reputation of the place I have been hearing. Secondly, the cleanliness in the dining area, the washbasin and the bathrooms, especially ladies toilets were really bad - as the ladies accompanying me described. Anyways, I planned of atleast more than one meals here but could do with one only during my stay of 5 days at nearby place, this time! The transaction appears to be mostly in cash or UPI Payments mode. Few items on the menu were denied as not available. Car Parking is outside the dhaba, on the side of highway itself; don't know how long parking on Highway would be allowed as per different NHAI directives, some alternate parking arrangements must be...
