Raymond's Tomb — Attraction in Hyderabad

Currently under renovation (November 2020) is a good place to watch sunrise and sunsets. Basically a tomb of Raymond and his horse. After renovation it will be better to see. Full of greenery and is surrounded by some trees (looks like forest). It is fenced well and good safety measure are taken. I don't suggest old people (people with knee pains) to come to this place as it is an uphill.

Update /10th June 2023/ This place was under renovation until recently. After it's reopening, I went to visit it with my friends a couple of weeks ago. It's always sad to find out that the place is closed. A person who lives near it has told us to not come here anymore. And that is not a safe place for women and girls. He also said that there will be some people inside, they will climb the gates and go to consume intoxicants.

This place before its closure for renovation was very good. It was indeed a powerful tourist site, with majestic history in its soil. But now, it is unfortunate to see it crumble like this. I urge the respected departments and authority to take any necessary action against this situation, and to make sure that this place will become a free-for-all to enter, and a safe...

First of all this is a proper residential colony, and this was one of the peaceful lanes before the construction work started at raymonds tomb obelisk,now as the construction work is going on,as the monument is open and not restricted, youngsters have started parking their respective two wheeler's in front of residential houses and have started drinking and smoking at the Raymond's tomb. The constant sound of their vehicles cause a lot of sound pollution and discomfortto the residents of the lane. The Raymond's tomb has become a regular and convenient spot for youngsters to consume alcohol and smoke,as there are no restrictions. Raymond's tomb is the tomb of Michel Joachim Marie Raymond, a French general in the army of 2nd Nizam - Nizam Ali Khan, Asaf Jah II. The tomb, located in Hyderabad, India is a black granite tombstone, conical, about 7 metres high and it has the initials JR on it.
