A place that is soo close to my house and also my heart! It has been a savior for me alot of times for when the hunger pangs strike at midnight this is where I order from! And recently I was here for dine in! The location is not really difficult to find, on the main road leading to Dilsukhnagar from Malakpet this place falls on the right after You cross the Galleria Mall! It's quite a huge place, with dining areas on G+1 level! The ground floor takes up the Cafe and Bakery where You get the Chai and other Bakery items! And the first floor has dining area in three sections- regular dining hall, mehfil seating and a PDR! All three of them are very spacious and decently maintained! Coming to the service, very much on point and amazingly done even when it was crowded and even when our order was huge! Yes alot of Good Food that pwe had here! Starting from their Captial Special Mutton Marg, a rich creamy non veg soup! The spices in it did the talking and the consistency of the soup was soo thick that you just cannot help yourself but love it! Also the meat in it was very tender, which is a plus to it! Next came the huge platters- Arabian and the Mixed Grill Platter! I went like "oh my! what a delight to the eye!" But it was even more so for our palates! The Arabian platter consisted of Hummus, Mutabal, Felafal, Pita Bread, Fattoush with Fries and Shredded Grill Chicken! A proper Arabian meal to enjoy! The Mixed Grill Platter had the whole Grill Chicken, Sheekh Kebab, Nawabi kebab, Lehsuni Chicken, Tandoori Prawns and Fish Tikka! Although there needs to be a slight improvement on their sea food in this platter, the Chicken and Mutton items on the Platter stole the entire show! But we didn't end up with the starters here yet, we also had Mutton Shikampuri, Iraqi Kebab, Mutton Boti Kebab, Fish Kali Mirchi and Loose Prawns and believe me every single one of them was damn good! The outstanding items among these were the Fish Kali Mirchi, Mutton Boti Kebab and the Mutton Shikampuri! Shikampur was sooo soo soft and tender that it just melted right on our tongue! And also it had the raw Chilli tinge to it which made it taste even better! Fish Kali Mirchi is something You just cannot miss to have here! And Mutton boti Kebab, unlike what You get at other places it wasn't very chewy and hard and the flavors were hitting on the right note! You can feel how good the marination of all the kebabs had been! A splendid job I'd say when speaking of their starters! Next in line we ordered the main course and we had Dum ka Murgh, Afghani Chicken and Mutton Rogan Josh along with Butter Naan in bread! Afghani Chicken was simply the best, a really flavorful and zesty chicken with a lil sweet touch to it! Also their dum ka murgh(chicken) was highlight amongst what we ordered! Mutton Rogan Josh could have been a little more better! But again overall, the curries did justice to our expectations here! Although many places out there doesn't really put in alot of their efforts for the main course specifically the curries, but here at Capital it isn't so! Their efforts were evident with the taste quality and flavors of the items they served! And our main course would have been incomplete without the star dish BIRYANI! Has any hyderabadi meal ended without it? I doubt so! We had the Zafrani Mutton Biryani Special here! And just full points to this amazingly tasty, super aromatic, heavenly Biryani! The quality of the rice was just soo good, and the Mutton meat was soo juicy and rich! The quantity that they serve is very good too! Literally it was our Tummy thanking Us for having this Biryani! And then we ended our meal with Desserts! They have a lot of options to choose from in Desserts and we ordered quite alot of them! We had the very famous Double ka Meetha, the Firni which was THE BEST and a must have I'd say, and then we had Kaddu Ki Kheer, Fruit Custard, Cream Fruit Salad Caramel Pudding, Choco Lava Cake, Chocolate Mousse and Mango Mousse! An assortment of extremely delicious Desserts that we indulged in sinfully with no regrets! Do try...
Read moreAs the capital city of Telangana, as the hi-tech capital of the south, Hyderabad has a plethora of cuisines and a short trip of three or four days is grossly insufficient to sample them all. Adding to that, the hip new restaurants and quirky cafes that are a new phenomenon in the city, and youâll spend most of your day travelling between the ânewâ city near the airport and the far more atmospheric old city of which the Charminar is the most famous landmark. When in Hyderabad, how can you miss visiting Capital restuarant which has been standing strong for years now in the Malakpet area near to TV Tower. It is a one-stop place for all meat lovers out there. Specializing in Indian, Mughlai, Chinese & Arabic, Capital Restaurant is split acorss two floors, wherein 1st floor has been kept for Chai lovers & 2nd floor being a huge area for dining is split across two large dining halls and a private dining room for semi-large groups. Coming to the food, Capital is having an elaborate menu for both vegeterians & non-veg lovers as well. We visited this place for a quick lunch wherein the fare was started with Capital Spcl Marag having a broth with a creamy consistency and spices evenly cooked with tender meat chunks which went amazing with some bread. Starting off with platters, we got Chinese platter, mutton grill platter & chicken grill platter. All of these platters are some of the popular picks from the menu & can easily suffice a semi-large group; coming to taste there has been nothing to point out since they were exceptionally tasty except mutton boti kebab which could have been cooked more owing to the chewy meat texture. Even the Arabian Platter consisting of fries, Fattoush, Muttabel, Hummous and chicken Sahan, a perfect Mediterranean spread which makes it an absolute must from the appetizers section. Chicken Faham & Sikandari Raan was truly well done dishes with apt amount of spice balance & masala content ozzed into the meat pieces, even the meat pieces in the Raan had slow braised legs of lamb, seasoned with tandoori marinade finished in oven.
From the plethora of appetizers, Kali Mirch Fish Tikka, Mutton Shikampuri & Boti Kebab are some noteworthy picks from the spread as they were done aptly as per expectations; Shikampur has the right balance of spices infused in the tender mashed meat which was shallow fried, onto the Boti kebabs which had the apt spice mixture of yoghurt, garlic, ginger, chillis, papaya, and spices such as garam masala, chilli powder, and cumin & grilled till perfection & was served with raw onions, lemon wedges & mint chutney. Even Loose prawns are well done with prawn chunks deep fried with apt salt levels thereby making sure it doesn't ruin the palate.
Coming to the showstopper dish among the spread, Dum Murgh Mussalam which had a whole chicken stuffed with eggs & slow cooked in a rich almond/poppy seeds/yogurt and saffron gravy making it a wonder creation from the menu to be paired up with Roti/Naan; a must recommended pick from the menu of Capital.
Moving to the mains, Dum Ka Chicken & Afghani Chicken are the dishes which are recommended ones to be paired with bread like Butter/Garlic Naan. Even Zaffrani Dum Biryani had the perfect spice levels with tinch of Zaffran in the meat masala & rice as well which went quite mild to the palate.
Chicken 65 Biryani was up next from the mains which we felt could have been done better in terms of the spices used in biryani. To wind up, we had some of the authentic desserts like Double Ka meetha, Caramel Pudding, Kheer, Fruit Salad & Qubbani ka Kheer, all of these were just an icing on the top after such a sumptous meal. To sum up, if you are craving for some authentic Mughlai cuisine along with authentic Kebabs in Hyderabad in a well-thought menu, Capital Restaurant should be on your list which is a hidden gem standing strong...
