Pilikula Golf Club — Attraction in Karnataka

Pilikula Golf Club, is part of the Pilikula Nisarga Dhama Trust and has been laid out in sylvan surroundings. The club is located 12 kilometers from Mangalore. The Golf Club was established by a DFO Mr. M.S. Goudar and an Elite Group of Mangalorean’s, who usually use the course on all days of the week, particularly weekends. The Membership Strength of the club is about 685 members on 15th April 2016.

The Categories of Membership are – Charter Members, Life Members, Permanent Members, Service Members and Corporate Members.

The Golf Club is managed by 12 governing body members, out of which 6 members are government representatives and the other 6 members are elected from among the members. The Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada, is the President of the Golf Club. He presides over the Managing Committee. The Managing Committee is elected by the members, every two years.

The Golf Course is a 18 hole, Par 72, which has nine Greens & Fairways (9 fairways, played twice & two holes per Green) with the range 6095 yards. We have the latest machinery and equipment for upto-date maintenance of the fairways and greens. During monsoon, the play is somewhat restricted, as one would have a stop-and-go game, depending on the rains. However, our course is well designed for the water to run off as soon as the rain stops.

Our Club House was completed in November 2005, and has a beautiful ambience & settings within the Pilikula Forestry. As most of our Members are also members of the 3 major clubs in Mangalore, we have no problems accommodating visiting golfers (during tournaments), at these clubs. I liked this place because of its greenery. May be in hundred of acres of lawn for golf cource gives you a wonderful view from your room balcony. Rooms are clean provided with t v, boiler; coffeemaker with necessary powder, mosquito repellent etc. What is more important is we got royal treatment.we had been there twice in May and July. Though I am not a golf player I liked this place most. The air conditioned bar is tastefully decorated. The staff members are courteous and we felt like at home. This was my first visit to this Golf club of Mangalore. I reached here in the evening with my car. They had good enough space for parking the car. I visited here for a function to be attended rather than playing golf. The place was very neat and clean and also looked beautiful in its surroundings as well. The foyer had enough space to accommodate at least 20 guests and both male and female restrooms were also available there on each corner.
