Sri RanganathaSwami temple, SriRangaPattana is one of the most famous and ancient Hindu temples located in South India. This temple is located in an island area of cauvery river which is basically called as SriRangaPattana island in Karnataka State. This temple is approximately 22 kms from Mysuru and situated in the main route of Bangalore to Mysore. This is one of the most holy and ancient temples of Hinduism. The Lord, Sri RangaNathaSwamy, which is the parallel icon of Sri Maha Vishnu in Hindu Religion worshipped here. The Temple consists a Main Raja Gopura, and inside they will be Pushkarini & Mandapa including another Inner Pradhana Gopura. The lord RangaNathaSwamy will be worshipped here. The idol looks as Sleeping posture of the Swami and the idol is very gigantic and delightful to watch. The temple is in the island of cauvery river and this temple is the main attraction to the talent despite being some other tourist places located in the same Island which is approximately 1 to 2 km from this temple. There's Tippu Sultan Summer Palace, Tippu's Death place, Water Gate, Nimishamba Temple and other tourist spots located in this Island which are very delightful to watch in a single day. This temple is a High Protected Monument under Archaeological Survey of India and necessary precautions are taking to protect this monument. This temple is located in middle of Kaveri river in Mandya district of Karnataka, this temple is also called as “ADI RANGA” Kshetram, which is the first Ranga of the TriRanga Kshetras SriRangaPattana, SivaSamudra & SriRangam. Out of these 3 Rangas, 2 were located in Karnataka & 1 is located in TamilNadu. This temple is built around 980 CE by Tirumalayya who was working in royal family at that time. Late on this temple was developed around 1100 by western Ganga Dynasty kings, Wadayar kings and kings of Mysore also. The temple looks very old in its structure and it seems like necessary care is not taking to the temple by Government of Karnataka and also by Government of India. There is no proper care to the constructions, the Monument and there is very insufficient staff to control the devotees inside the temple also. They have no proper sign boards to explain the significance of the temple to the visitors and devotees which basically making the devotees using their phones inside the temple also. It feels very sad and disgusting as an enthusiastic researcher of Hindu temples Dr one of the most oldest temples in South India is going to be forgotten soon due to the actions taken by Governments India is responsible and rude behaviour of the Devotees. So please be Responsible if you visit this Temple & Remember that there's no way you should use MOBILE PHONE INSIDE THE TEMPLE & in MANDAPAS. If you're into a Mysore Trip, Please Visit SriRangaPattana and enjoy its extravaganza beauty, Greenery, the old ancient monument which makes you fall in love with Our Culture, Hindu Dharma and Soak in the Divinity of Cauvery River.
