A worth visit place in a lifetime . I wish I could've bought all of them. Please go there only if you've enough time to spend. As once you go there you wouldn't want to go back home. It's so amazing.

This rose garden is maintained by Kerala Tourism and is located a few kilometers away from Munnar City on the way of Mettupatty dam . In spite of lesser in area, the garden is well maintained. Beautiful and variety of blossoms especially roses will please you. Many of those plantation and flowers are named beside so that we can understand details of each of them. In short for nature lovers and photographer fanatics, rose garden is real treat for you. Nominal entry fee chargeable for both entry and camera inside. Parking space should be more to avoid any rush.

Plucking of flower is strictly prohibited and could lead to penalties so be careful if you go with kids. There is also prohibition for toilet and tea/coffee inside government building inside the garden premises. You can also buy sandalwood and other spices, honey from the government store inside the campus. It's beautiful place to visit mostly during morning/evening time.

If you are at Munnar don't miss to visit...

Famous by the name of Rose Garden this place maintained by the Kerala Forest Development Corporation Ltd. It has an entry fees of 100 Rs. (I believe the authorities have increased the price recently)

It is a good place for city people to relax and absorb the beauty of so many varieties of flowers like Dahlia, roses, marigold and a other medicinal plants are maintained here.

There is a shop within the park where you can buy various herbs and 20+ varieties of Sandalwood.

Would recommend visiting this place on the morning hours when there is dew on the flowers.

I would also recommend authorities to think of better Plantation techniques instead of maintaining the plants in flower pots. Another recommendation would be to provide some additional information on the plants like recommend temperature and soil type.

This park has the potential to inspire people to grow their own garden, the authorities might as well provide the tools and techniques for the general public to grow...

The time I went, it was raining quite heavily. Only a small portion of this place has a roof so we couldn't see anything. Instead of warning us about this, the people quickly just let us in. The place closed at 6 PM and we got in at around 5:50 PM. We couldn't wait there for the rain to get over. It felt like a total bust. Not worth 50 rupees per person. The Hydel park would be much much better option. Also only a very few ( one or two) types of plants are kept for sale, which is even more annoying. That was literally one of the reasons of us visiting this place. So, if you are only looking to see some flowers and plants and just climb up and down steps, this might be the place for yu. Else, walk away.
