Punkunnam Sree Shiva Temple

This temple s located bang on the Punkunnam - Pushpagiri - Puzhakkal junction and is one of the oldest temples in Thrissur. Lord Shiva, the presiding deity is in all grandeour here. The temple also has Goddess Parvathy, Lord Ganapathy, Lord Ayyappa and Lord Krishna, besides Nagadevatas. The Krishna temple was rebuilt recently and is beautiful too. Pay a visit whilst at Thrissur and enjoy the tranquility of the place. The temple is open from 5.30-10.30 AM and 5-8 PM. MahaShivarathri, Thiruvadhira, Mandala Puja and Pradosha divasa are some of the most important days when the temple comes to life. Dolls display during Navaratri and Ayyappa velakku puja, Ganesh Chaturthi also see grand celebrations outside the temple, in the adjusant ground.
