The worst restaurant experience of my life was here! I went cos it was supposedly famous but this place is pure scam.
I went for dinner with my husband and parents around 10pm after a long day at Guruvayur. There was a 10 minute waiting outside the restaurant (which is fine). But we got the worst waiter I have seen in my life. Looking at their super elaborate menu, we wanted to order fish and seafood and beef items, he went inside returned after 10 mins to say that nothing but chicken items were available. Then we asked him to get alfaham, chicken tikka and chicken roast with breads. He went back again and after 15 mins told us alfaham and chicken tikka weren’t available. So we asked him what is available, to which he told us everything but these were, however we could order chicken 65 which was readily available. We hate chicken 65 but we were so hungry and he had already wasted our 20 mins so we agreed and asked him to get anything simple, like dal. Not only he took another 30 mins to get chicken 65 (mind you this is super dry) and dal and all breads, he made us wait for another 20 mins till the chicken roast could come. And naturally we couldn’t eat the porotta and idiappam with dal. So the porotta sitting out for so long became rubbery. We were absolutely losing patience, it was already 11.15 and we complained a couple of times to the manager. Finally this guy got the chicken roast, which was hardly meant for two people (we were four). Not even once throughout this 1+ hour, he thought it was important to mention that it was not enough for 4 people.
We went back starving and extremely disappointed - never have I had to wait for 1+ hour for a meal and never have I been so upset after a meal. I do understand that maybe they were just having a rough day, but the waiter could have simply told us what was readily available.
This review will not make any difference to them but if you would like even a wee bit of professionalism, you’re much better off at a toddy...
Read moreMy family and I had dinner at the Akshaya restaurant in Punkunnam few days before. We ordered two chicken and one mutton biriyani after waiting a while for a table. Since we could only eat half of each, we asked the server to package the leftovers, which included two chicken pieces from the two half biriyanis and the leftover mutton biriyani.
We noticed that the people seated next to our table were brought eggs with their biriyani, which we didn't have, while we waited for the package.I couldn't understand why it seemed to be catering to various customers in disparate ways. When the package finally arrived, the left overs were just wrapped in aluminium foil and put in an unclean brown paper cover .We didn't ask to have it repacked because there was a big group of people waiting .
As we got home, we noticed that the components were missing and only the rice was packaged. We immediately contacted the restaurant after becoming very irate. They promised to call us back after speaking with the waiter ,which didn't happen, so I had to give them another call. They just sent us a CCTV video of the waiter wrapping the package since they didn't want to believe what we claimed.I even asked them to send me their email address so I could voice my complaints,to which they didn't even respond.
This kind of treatment is not anticipated from a well-known restaurant that prides itself on serving the best food. This was by far Akshaya's worst experience.Make sure your packages are inspected before you leave so that this doesn't happen to anyone else.Attention to be drawn to the waiter's unprofessional behaviour and the staff members' negligent handling of...

During my journey back from Bangalore, I had the pleasure of dining at Akshaya in Thrissur for lunch. We were famished, but thankfully, the restaurant's top-class food and efficient service quickly turned our hunger into a delightful culinary experience.
The quality of the food was truly impressive, leaving a lasting impression on our taste buds. Each dish was prepared with care and boasted authentic flavors, making it a gratifying meal.
The service was another standout aspect of our visit. The staff was attentive, courteous, and prompt in catering to our needs, making the overall dining experience pleasant and enjoyable.
As a family, we appreciated the clean and neat ambiance of the restaurant, providing a comfortable setting for everyone to enjoy their meal.
However, I do have one concern regarding the handwash and restroom facilities. While they were clean, the lack of ample space in the restrooms was a bit inconvenient. It seemed difficult for people to maneuver without bumping into each other, which could be improved for a more comfortable experience.
Despite this minor setback, Akshaya is undoubtedly a restaurant worth visiting for its delectable food, commendable service, and family-friendly environment. If you find yourself in Thrissur and in need of a satisfying meal, Akshaya is an excellent choice that will leave you satisfied with your...
