Went by 6 pm for a walk, but it was almost time to close and hence they refused entry to the beach side through the bridge. So in case you plan to come to the lake, come early. Took a walk around the park and followed the toy train tracks.. Took some pictures which I will be posting. The 3 star rating is for the plastic wastes and other garbage lying near the boat jetty and near the restaurant.. There are many boats lying in dilapidated condition. It looks like a dumping ground, really sad to see this condition.

The place is under construction. It will need atleast one year to get finished. The beach is very polluted and has no pollution norms being adhered here. Plastic is everywhere. No umbrellas or any cover to sit on the beach. Very disappointing place in current status. The place is being planned well but it will take a longtime.

இது திருவனந்தபுரம் மத்திய பேருந்து நிலையத்தில் இருந்து 9 கிலோ மீட்டர் தொலைவில் தம்பனூர் என்ற இடத்தில் உள்ளது. கிழக்கு கோட்டை பேருந்து பணிமனையில் இருந்து வெள்ளயாணி ஏரிக்கு பேருந்துகள் இயக்கப்படுகின்றன. பூங்குளம் சந்திப்பின் வழியாக கோவளத்தில் இருந்து 7கிமீ தொலைவில் அமைந்துள்ளது. இந்த ஏரியைக்கடப்பதற்கு ஏதுவாக ஒரு சாலை கட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த ஏரி சுற்றுலாப்பயணிகளை பெரிதும் கவர்கிறது. பார்வையாளர்கள் ஒரு முறை கோவளம் வந்தால் அவர்களால் இந்த அழகான காட்சி நிறைந்த நன்னீர் ஏரியினைக் காணும் வாய்ப்பை அவர்கள் நழுவவிடுவதில்லை. இது மிகவும் தூய்மையான தெளிவான நீர். குறிப்பாக இந்த ஏரியினை இரவு நேரத்தில் நிலவு வெளிச்சத்தில் காணும்போது மனதிற்கு இதமாக உள்ளதாம். அங்குள்ள வட்டார வழக்கில் கொச்சு கோவளம் என்று அழைக்கிறார்கள் அதற்கு சிறிய கோவளம் என்பது பொருளாகும். அந்த ஏரியில் படகுப்போட்டிகள் ஓணம் திருவிழாவின்போது விமரிசையாக நடக்கிறது. இதனைக்காண பெரும் மக்கள் கூட்டம் ஓணத்திருவிழாவின் போது வருகிறார்கள். கோவலம் கடற்கரையில் இருந்து வெள்ளயாணி ஏரிக்கு நாட்டுபடகு சவாரிகள் வசதிகள் வழங்கப்படுகிறது.

Lake is clean. Surrounding is well maintained with greenry. The place is used for movie and song suiting. Boating and speed boat facility is available. There is entry fee ( minimal amount). There are snacks shops, but no good restaurants. From the lake you can walk to the beach having golden sand but very high waves. The beach is not suitable for...
