Veli was a nice spot of hangout, they introduced many new features for tourist encouragement programs. It mostly crowded during day time. It's an best one day trip planning spit for children there was an playground, toy train more gaming things for children. The Veli Tourist Village is only 12 kms from the capital Thiruvananthapuram, and is a wonderful and relaxing escape from the city. There are many boating and picnicking opportunities to avail, a children’s park with floating café for family fun, and speedboats and other water transport to rent for those with a spirit of adventure. The Veli Tourist Village which lies where the Veli Lake meets the Arabian Sea provides for unique boating and picnicking opportunities. Visitors can hire pedal boats or paddleboats as per their convenience. One can also roam the gardens and have a nice picnic or choose to employ the boats for the entire duration of the trip. The view and feel of the place is extremely unique, considering it is merely 12 kms from the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram. Children are known to have a lot of fun climbing the sculptures here and the speedboat ride across the waters. A separate Children’s Park and Floating Cafe run by Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) are added incentives to visit this unique village. Timing: Open 09:00 – 18:00 hrs Entrance Fee: Rs. 20/- (Above 14 years) Children - Rs. 5/- (Admit One - Between 5 to 12 years) Family - Rs. 40/- (Admit Four - 2 Adults + 2 Children) Group - Rs. 200/- (35 Students + 2 Teachers) TV Serial Shoot - Rs. 10,000/- (8 AM to 7 PM per day) Film Shoot - Rs. 30,000/- (8 AM to 7 PM per day) Video Shoot - Rs. 250/- (Maximum 2 Hours) A popular tourist spot in Thiruvananthapuram that lies sandwiched between the Arabian Sea and Veli Lake is Veli Beach. Veli tourist village associated with the beach offers boating facilities. A separate Children’s Park and Floating Cafe run by Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) are added incentives to visit this unique village. As the name suggests, Veli is a tourist village that is popular as a picnic destination in Thiruvananthapuram district. The place features a large garden on the southern banks of Veli Lagoon; a floating bridge that connects this garden to the Veli Beach. It is an ideal destination for a family picnic as there are wide range of attractions such as play areas for children, boat rides in Veli Lake, horse riding option, and a floating restaurant can be found here. Apart from these, there is a a long walkway connecting Aakulam Lake that catches one’s attention, there are also some stone and grass sculptures by Kanayi Kunhiraman which add to the landscape of the garden; a collection of birds such as pigeons and swans, and few small ponds with fish and tortoises in them.

Veli Tourist Village is a beautiful and peaceful getaway just outside Trivandrum city. The scenic beauty where the lake meets the sea is truly mesmerizing. The area is well-maintained with lush gardens, a floating bridge, boating facilities, and charming walkways-ideal for families, couples, and nature lovers. The evening vibe is amazing, with a cool breeze and breathtaking sunset views. One of the most remarkable experiences is the small train service inside the park for sightseeing-kids will love it. During the Onam season, the entire village glows with beautiful lighting on the trees, creating a magical festive feel. Sitting near the lake and sharing conversations with your loved ones turns into a truly romantic moment. My family also enjoyed the fish spa, horse riding, and many other amusement options available inside. There are plenty of refreshment stalls offering lunch, snacks, coffee, and ice cream. Clean pay-and-use washroom facilities are also available. With all these attractions, Veli Tourist Village is a must-visit destination in Trivandrum-relaxing, entertaining, and memorable for all ages.

Veli Tourist Village Veli Tourist Village in Thiruvananthapuram, located 10-12 km from the city center, is a scenic gem where Veli Lake meets the Arabian Sea. Perfect for families, the park offers a serene floating bridge with stunning views and a unique lake-sea confluence. The solar-powered toy train is a delightful 2.5-km ride, winding through lush greenery, captivating both kids and adults. Boating—pedal boats (₹100 for 30 mins, 2-seater) and speed boats (₹700-1000 for 4-6 people)—is a highlight, though rides can feel short. The children’s park, with swings, slides, and Kanayi Kunhiraman’s sculptures, adds charm. Food options, like the KTDC floating restaurant, serve decent South Indian fare but are limited and pricey. Entry is affordable (₹5-30), with parking at ₹10-20. However, litter and broken equipment detract from the experience, and crowds swell in evenings. Adding water sports like kayaking could boost appeal. Overall, a relaxing half-day outing with great potential—better maintenance would help. I
