This review is about the boat ride. We booked the slot for 6:30 am which meant that we had to get up at 4:45 , and leave home by 5:30 am to make it just in time . We were probably the last ones to make it to the boat but still had to wait for 10 mins for some officials. Those 10 mins are hell as the mosquitoes will just devour you . So please carry Odomos with you and wear full clothing . Those king size mosquitoes will make your life miserable till the boat starts. The ride was just awesome. Watching the sun rise with the flamingoes flying by was a spectacle to behold. There were fewer flamingoes than last year . However apart from flamingoes there are other birds too. There is one naturist who was really friendly and seemed enthusiastic about telling us all about the various birds . But the main attraction is of course the flamingoes. The boat is a bit noisy and one got to have good lenses to capture the birds from afar. Better to rent binoculars at time of booking which one needs to do by going to counter or on phone. At the end of 1 hour trip it seemed worth getting up...
Read moreThis is our second visit. The issues faced were, the Ticket counter opens at 9 am. Since we reached early we had to wait for a quite long period. But since kids were with us they allowed us at 8.45 am. Parking is free inside the compound and there is ample space for parking.
Ticket cost is ok Adults Rs 50 senior citizens Rs 40 and childrens below 5 years free.
The long walk on the wooden bamboo bridge to watch the flamingoes🦩is worth the visit. N.B.The bridge needs some repair. But great experience.
Boating was closed as it was low tide day. Beside the charge is too too expensive for weekends. About 600 rupees per person for a boat ride is too much from any standard.
The experience centre is really good and the gift shop has a reasonable pricing.
Overall great outing for kids...
Read moreThis was our second visit to view Flamingos this season, first one was in Belapur, so this review is more of a comparison. You can trust google maps on the location
Pros - +More flamingos than Belapur +More comfortable seating in boats than the Belapur
Cons- -This one needs weeks in advance to make a booking, while the Belapur one can be booked on the spot.
-This one is more expensive, charge extra for parking,
-when we visited the entire museum was being renovated so was closed,
-while the Belapur one offers one Binocular for each person, this one has 3-4 binoculars shared on the boat.
one crosses by Kanjurmarg Dumpyard, although the waste is not visible, there a a part where you will have to hold your breath...
