Kanagan Lake — Attraction in Puducherry

Lake was renovated by our honorable ex lieutenant governor, started boat riding and installed benches and platform around the lake but failed to notice the sewage treatment plant from which improperly treated water and sewage from some of the nearby houses directly drains into lake making algae and bacterial bloom ... After realising it lately people stoped boat riding... It was abandoned for many days and recently they tried to increase it's capacity for holding rain which also failed and got overflowed into nearby streets... Wonderful Lake.... Although half of the lake has been encroached and built Hospitals, PumpHouse and other residents yet the remaining Lake looks vibrant and pleasant.

Walking trails are available on the side banks of the Lake. Though regular cleaning is needed. It was restored by our former Lft. Governor Kiran Bedi. She even started boat service in the lake... But due to poor maintenance and poor appreciation from the local public it was stopped now.

Hope the Oulgaret Town planning officials take some necessary action and bring back the crowd...
