The Katraj Snake Park is located near the Katraj Main chowk. The snake park is the part of Rajiv Gandhi Zoo, Katraj. In the same zoo there are different types of animals and birds we can find. Starting from snake park there are different ways to visit the Tiger, Lion, Elephants, Guavas, Jiraffe, Zebra, Types of Deer, Wild cat, Birds etc.. Some time before the white tiger was also there but this time Oct 22 we didn't see him. Park Ticket:- 40 INR. Inside Park:- You can also have an electric buggy ride of approx. 30 min. Which is available only at 40 INR/Person. This ride allows you to move around the park. It is a very nice facility for senior citizens and the early parents carrying a child. You can have a great ride. The thing is it's too much of a rush on the weekends but it's obvious that everyone will be there on weekends 😂 Jokes apart! The overall zoo is really worth watching.
How to reach:- You can reach directly with your own vehicles. 2/4 wheeler. There's a (pay and park) parking facility by PMC. If you want to travel by public transport you can travel from Swargate to Katraj Chowk. If coming from West Pune then get the bus to Katraj Chowk. It is hardly 100 meters from Katraj Main Chowk.
You can also enjoy the Katraj Milk Products in front of the Zoo. There's a Katraj Milk factory and their outlets too. Street food is also available if one wants to have relief...

The place was overcrowded to the point that it was difficult to even walk freely. Despite there being some space inside, there’s absolutely no proper parking available. Due to the lack of any visible guidance, most visitors (including me) were forced to park nearby, unknowingly violating some unmarked rules. Our vehicle was picked up by the nearby policeman, and we ended up paying ₹785 as a fine — a shocking and frustrating ordeal that ruined our entire outing.
On top of that, the place doesn’t feel safe. There’s a constant risk of theft, and the chaotic crowd only adds to that concern. The management is extremely poor — no proper signage, no crowd control, and no support staff to help or guide.
To make things worse, many animals were either missing or nowhere to be seen, and the enclosures that were active were not well-maintained. For a place meant to be family-friendly, this was truly a letdown.
Not recommended at all. Poor infrastructure, lack of parking, safety issues, and mismanagement make this a...
