Sri Varatharaja Perumal and Hanuman Temple (Pattai Kovil) — Attraction in Tamil Nadu

This is one of the most important temples of Lord Vishnu in Salem. Lord Vishnu is regarded here as Sri Prasanna Varadharraja Perumal, giving dharshan alongside his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi. This temple also has separate shrines for Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, Yoga Narasimhar - Chakkarathaazhwar duo, Perundhevi Thaayaar, Hayagriva Swamy, Vishnu Durgai Amman and Garuda. Opposite to this temple, there is Varasiddhi Anjaneya Swamy, who gives dharshan as worshipping Prasanna Varadharraja Swamy. Eye-catching, intricate paintings can be seen on the inside walls of both the duo-temples, which depict some of the famous incidents of some avatars of Vishnu and some of the important shrines of Vishnu across Tamil Nadu. This temple is locally regarded as 'Pattai Kovil'.
