Read moreFor those living in Delhi and nearby areas one of the favourite tourist spot is Lancedowne, in Uttarakhand. March-end (2018) happened to be a long weekend and we had a grand opportunity to move out of Delhi on a short trip and we decided to go on a long drive to Lancedowne. The visit took me to several places of common interest in Lancedowne. Bhula Taal is a must visit tourist spot in Lancedowne. The artificially developed small lake is not far from the main market and measures about one kilometer. I found that mist tourists were going to Bhula Tal in their cars or other shared vehicles. However, I preferred to trek there from Cantt Market. It is my personal opinion that while in hill one should try to trek as much as possible and that is why I and my family walked to this tourist destination. The trek is approx one kilometer which is just climbing. At one or two points it was a bit steep but overall we enjoyed the route which was full of pine trees. In big cities we miss out on such greenery and closeness to nature, so it was all fun. It is a different matter that Bhula Tal did not come up to my expectations as it was too small; the water was unclean and looked green. Arrangement wise it was a nice place-- there was boating facility, nice flowers all along and a small compartment housing rabbits and guinea pigs. Overall it was a very small place and was good to spend an hour or so because while in Lancedowne you need a place to sit down and enjoy the nature. The place seems to have been artificially developed to attract tourists. Boating did not charm me so I avoided it. Moreover, it was costly too. We sat there for a while and took some pictures to record our sweet memories. Do go there but without high hopes. My sincere advice would be you should trek all the way to Bhula Tal.. you will enjoy the greenery and do justice with your...
