Great hospitality, Owner Mr. Vijay Agarwal is an awesome host. Staffs are very cordial. Rooms are great at very reasonable rates. We stayed in the cottage/hut as well. Experience of hut was cozy and comfy. They have bonfire at no extra charge. It’s just in the market so location is very desirable. All the spots are at walking distance of 2 kms maximum. My wife and I walked to all the spots, amidst the beauty of nature. Do take time to attend evening Aarti at 5000 yrs old Kaleshwar Mahadev temple, which gives you a sublime experience at Devbhoomi. 7 to 10 mins walk from hotel. Food is delicious and hygienic. Even people from all nearby hotels come to Mayur for their meals.
We stayed from 12th August to 15th August. Our booking was till 14th. But due to heavy rain, land slides, and cloud burst in roads leading to kotdwar, we were stuck and could not leave on 14th. We were in a panicky situation. We checked out on 14th and waited for some positive news. Mr. Vijay Agarwal comforted us. He did not take our luggage out even if we checked out at 10.30am. He further said if roads don’t open and you need to stay we will reduce the tariff.. what.. did I hear that right..was he just joking..or are we in a parallel universe.. He also made arrangements for people of other hotels to rest in his sitting area. Finally we checked in again.. and believe me he reduced the tariff by good percentage. Next day he gave us the right advices, and situation not been as bad as in other parts UK and HP, we managed to reach kotdwar.
However, we enjoyed the rain drenched misty hills and forest as we walked along through Lansdowne. Please keep the hills clean of plastic and...
Read moreI visited the resturant. Very bad service. Rude owner as well as the staff. Unprofessional. We asked them for a table but they had none. Then we asked them to serve us samosa on a disposable plate but they refused. Our Taxi driver had recommended this place for chocolate barfi and snacks. Snacks were turned down so we thought of buying the chocolate barfi. The owner is an elderly person. I gave him a new currency note but he gave me dirty torn change and when I requested him to change it, he got angry and threw another dirty currency note. Even though the chocolate barfi box was packed they made me wait for 15 minutes to hand it over. The staff wasn’t ready to give the box until I made it an issue. Pathetic place. If the owner has such a bad behaviour then what can we expect from the staff. Never to visit again. I’ve given 1 star only for the chocolate barfi . Better to visit Mishra Sweets which is just down the lane. The chocolate barfi is...
Read moreI was travelling solo and want to stay in a budget hotel in main market area, so chose this place in Lansdowne. Other high-end bigger properties are few km before the city centre and may be better for a family or couple. ||||The double bed room and washroom were clean and of average size with proper ventilation. The interior and amenities were very basic - an old TV, chair, small almirah, towel, one soap, etc. They don't have own parking space but vehicles can be parked in front of their property which seems safe. The entry is through a narrow stair case opening on the main road.||||The restaurant is on the ground floor with entry entirely separate from the hotel, it has basic meals and snacks with a small sweet shop also. The food is OK and...
