Read moreSahastradhara, the Thousand Fold Spring' is a popular water picnic spot renowned for its stunning beauty and therapeutic value since its water contains sulphur. While the place is a marvel of nature, it's important to consider the timing of your visit to fully appreciate its charm.
After a hiatus of nearly a decade, I revisited Sahastradhara, only to be reminded of why I had stayed away for so long. The allure of its crystal-clear waters is undeniable, but the influx of visitors often transforms the serene spring into a less appealing, muddy pool. This is a common issue with many natural attractions that struggle to balance tourism and conservation.
For those who wish to experience Sahastradhara in its most pristine state, I recommend an early morning visit between 6 am. and 8 am. At this time, the crowds are sparse, and the water remains untouched and transparent, just as nature intended. My recent trip at this hour was a peaceful encounter, with the site almost to ourselves, allowing us to enjoy the tranquil environment fully.
Additionally, venturing towards the upper side of Sahastradhara can be rewarding. The main waterfall, often the first to be crowded, is bypassed, offering a quieter and cleaner experience. It's a gentle reminder that sometimes, the best experiences require stepping off the beaten path.
In conclusion, Sahastradhara remains a breathtaking destination. However, to preserve its beauty and enjoy a hygienic visit, one must choose the timing wisely. Early risers are rewarded with the best Sahastradhara has to offer – a serene ambience and waters that truly reflect the sky.
