Suruchi beach is named after the Suruchi trees on the boundary of this beach..It is a part of Arabian sea. It is about 8km away from Mumbai Western suburban station- Vasai Road. To reach Suruchi beach, one would have to hire a private auto from Vasai station. The rate is not fixed, the auto waala may demand anything between 150-250. The approach roach to Suruchi beach is not in a good state and is always under repairs.. Also parallel to his road you would see huge sewage chanel which is dumped in the sea(hence i have rated 4 stars). About the beach, it is a black sand beach, quite(unlike Mumbai beaches). You won't find any shacks here, although some wadapav waala, paanipuri waala, gola waala are present here for some refreshments. There is a garden constructed newly by the corporation (VVMC) just at the entry of the beach for small kids. You get an amazing sunset and sunrise view from this beach. Many joggers flock this beach during early mornings and evenings. The Suruchi trees on the brim of this beach are reducing in number(maybe due to the sea currents). All in all, a good beach to spent time with family.. You would find many wannabe bride and bridegroom here for the pre-wedding...

If you don't have any conveyance, rickshaws will being you here. There are some "typical Chowpatty" snacks and cold drink stalls over here. The beach itself has black sand, NOT because of pollution, but because there is the Vasai creek alongside, and beaches in such a geographic location typically have black sand! That said, the cleanliness on the beach can be improved if the visitors show some civic sense and dispose garbage in the dustbins on the beach instead of littering the sand and spoiling the ambience. At low tide, a lagoon forms on the beach, and one traverses across it to the beach proper across a makeshift "bridge". At night, the distant lights of coastal Bhayandar and Gorai make a colourful display on the horizon. There's also a "Suruchi Baug" alongside the beach, where groups arrive...
Read moreSuruchi beach also known as Vasai beach is one of the hidden beaches of Mumbai (though technically not in Mumbai). The reason for it being not in the limelight is its isolation from the city. Roughly 7 km from Vasai railway station, the beach is a paradise for peace lovers who would want to just lay back , listen to the whispers of the shores and enjoy the view of the sunset late in the evening. Beach has less visitors which means less garbage on it. The beach is ignored by the local authorities though, the condition of the road towards the beach is way more pathetic. The water is not good for bath as it contains loads of black sand with it. Unlike other beaches in Mumbai, the beach is less prone to fishing activities and also has less to no foul odor. Also as an added advice there are no lifeguards or civic authorities nearby so one should take care of his well being. Though I have not faced any issues, travelling alone is not advisable due to the isolation...
