Today visited the place called as Jawahar Kunj. Reached by 11 am. It was a park under control of Urban Recreation Forestry Division, Govt of West Bengal and situated on the bank of Ganges ( Hooghly river). Car parking place was there by paying Rs100/-. Entry was allowed only after buying entry tickets of Rs.35/- per person. For person with camera a separate ticket is to be purchased @Rs.100/- (including charge for entry ticket). Entry was wheelchair user friendly. The park was clean with lot of greenery and well maintained flower beds. There were three public toilets for male and female. Toilets were not wheelchair user friendly. A small area was demarcated as children park which was fitted with few play equipment. One big area was demarcated for picnic parties. Picnics are allowed from 9 am to 5 pm in that area after getting it booked by paying Rs.800/- for using the area and paying Rs.35/- per person (adult) and Rs.20/- (child). Loudspeaker and thermocol plates are not allowed. Own arrangements for cooking and chairs etc are to be made. Bookings are done on monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2 pm to 4 pm. A small pond was also there. One can visit the place with family including kids. Good place for elderly people. Bird photographers may get varieties of birds in the park. Read moreIt's a pinic spot, where you can enjoy the scenic beauty along with the Ganges cool air, also there is a park where swing, slip are available and the most important part is that there a lot's of flower and you feel fresh around those flower and don't want to go home. The park authority can provide breakfast and lunch , for that you have to talk with them, and they will arrange those very efficiently and their service is awesome, cooking quality is also good, but one problem is there which is the bathroom , there is only two bathroom for ladies but one is defective that is dirty so the authority should look into this carefully other wise it is a nice place for picnic or for small outing and the entry fee...

Regarding Birding:
The GOOD: One would get Plum headed parakeet, Scarlet Backed Flowerpecker, apart from the rest. The trees give sufficient shelter to the birds.
The NOT-SO-GOOD: Timing/Instructions for birders should be publicly available. On Google map, there should not be duplicate entries.
The BAD: In the morning, the area is very dirty from the previous days picnic. The ground is littered. Random loud music is not good for the birds. Maybe the authorities put a cap on the sound. Picnic is for fun but if that harms the birds, then it is not a very good thing.
