Love to be at this temple, to experience divinity. Neat n clean.

History of Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple (as displayed in the temple walls):

As per Karna Parampara, there lived a maharishi called Sownaka Maharishi who was a staunch devotee of Lord Maha Vishnu. On his way to worship Sthala Sayana Peruma in Thiru Kadal Mallai Divya Desam (now known as Mamalapuram) Sownaka Maharishi reached a village called Serumanancheri, surrounded by beautiful water streams and fertile paddy fields. After completing his daily poojas and rituals, Sownaka Maharishi wanted to visit Perumal Kovil (temple) and pray. He enquired the villagers about the existence of Perumal Kovil in Serumanancheri. Villagers responded that there was no Perumal Kovil in Serumanancheri. On hearing this, Sownaka Maharishi felt very sad and started to do tapas, in a,mango farm in the village, towards Lord Maha Vishnu. Impressed with the supreme devotion and divine tapas, Lord Maha Vishnu, along with Sridevi and Bhudevi, appeared before Sownaka Maharishi and blessed him. Sownaka Maharishi requested the Lord to be in Serumanancheri village forever along with Sridevi and Bhudevi so as to remove the sorrows of his devotees. Lord Maha Vishnu obliged the wish of Sownaka Maharishi and continued his presence in Serumanancheri village. This Serumanancheri village in due course came to be known as Semmancheri. Lord Srinivasa, as Kurai Theerkum Govindan in this temple, blesses His devotees, removes their sorrows and fulfils their desires as committed by the Lord himself to Sownaka maharishi. Once upon a time, there was famine at this place and Pallava king Narasimha Varma Pallava prayed for the blessings of Srinivasa Perumal to relieve the pains of the people. Pleased with his prayers, Lord Srinivasa appeared before the king and brought rains to this region. As per Indian History, this temple is believed to have been constructed by Pallavas with renovation undertaken by Nayak Kings. According to archeological experts, this temple in its present form should have been constructed between 1500 AD and 1600 AD and its structure is in the pattern of Udupi Renaissance. Thousand years old single stone with sculptures of Shiva, Lingam, Mahalakshmi and Ganesa presently housed near Madapalli, exquisite stone image of Lord Kalinga Narthana Krishna in main sanctum and sculpture of Agni devan with two heads and three legs exhibit the architectural grandeur and spiritual excellence of this temple. This temple is the Prarthana Stalam for unmarried persons and childless couples. One can regain lost vision by offering sincere prayers in this temple. It is believed that offering of Thulabaram at this temple by devotees, especially for children on their birthdays, will bring all round health, wealth and prosperity. Till 2007 this temple was in a dilapidated and abandoned condition with Sannidhis and temple entrance completely damaged. Sri Alarmel Manga Samedha Sri Srinivasan Perumal Trust - Triplicane renovated this temple with the involvementof Semmancheri villagers and with the approval of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department - TamilnaduGovernment. Samprokshanam was performed in this temple in 2007. Samprokshanam was again performed in 2009 after construction of new Rajagopuram at the...

Pleasant experience. Ancient temple with all the aagamic rituals being performed daily. The Pradhana archakar ( Bhattacharya ) of the temple is a renowned scholar of traditional veda and aagama shastra and he is very much receptive and hospitable towards the devotees in performing the Kainkaryams and clearing doubts about their problems. A must visit place in the Busy OMR Road. Kurai Theerkum Govindhan is said to provide a new lease of life and offer clear path to the needy devotees. The Thaamarai Poo Archanai at the Thaayar Sannithi was awesome and the prakaara Parivaara Devatas consist of Sudharshana Murthy, Yoga Narasimhar, Sri Krishnar, Sri Andal, Sri Seeta Lakshmana Sametha Raamachandra Murthy and the Ever present Raama Bhaktha Hanuman ( Sri Anjaneyar ). Even on Saturdays and other important festive occasions, the temple is hassle free for its vast space. A nice and quick to reach place to worship the Lord Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy and Padmavati thaayar...

This temple is Located in Semmanacheri on the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) just after Infosys campus and Sathyabhama University. It is believed that the temple may be over 1500 years old and built by the Pallavas. Later on, renovation work at this temple is said to have been undertaken by Nayak Kings and Chettiars. But The Archeological Survey of India (ASI) person said that the temple in its current form and structure may be about 500 years old.Once upon a time, there was famine at this place and the Pallava king, Narasimha Pallava, invoked the blessings of Srinivasa Perumal to help relieve the pains of the people. Pleased with his prayers, Lord Srinivasa is said to have appeared before the king and brought rains to this region. There are also sannidhis for Rama,,Chakrathazhvar and Andal It is a practice followed by devotees visiting this temple with Nithya Kalyana Perumal on ECR and Thiru...
