There’s A Good Conception That Away From The Hustle Of Any Big City, You Could Chance Upon A Veritable Gem Of A Restaurant. ‘The Farm’ Satisfies This Adage, As One Of The Few Farmstead Artisanal Cheese Makers Across India. Their 100% Organic Farming Methodologies Yield Ample Goodness That Graces Their Restaurant Menus, As Well As Sits Pretty Behind Their Store Counters.
Here’s What I Had:
A Burst Of Rugged, Mediterranean Goodness, This Summer Cheese Plate Could Mentally Transport You To Santorini! While One Might Visualise A Slew Of Cheeses As On A ‘cheese Board’ When Hearing ‘Cheese Plate’, This Has Brined Peppers Stuffed With Marinated, Piquant Feta Instead. There’s Also Olives & Walnuts To Go Around, & All Of Them Rest On A Bed Of Sea Salt & That Evergreen Herb, Thyme. All Of The Carefully Curated Ingredients Complete Each Other, Not Just Complement. Brava!
“Yo Baile Yo!” Well, That’s What I Sang To Myself On The Inside While Hogging (Sorry Not Sorry XD) On The Earthy, Punchy Goan Chorizo. Chorizo Is A Pork Sausage That’s Spicy From The Red Chilli Spice Mix, & Pungent From The Coconut Vinegar It’s All Soaked In. The Wicked Mix Is Then Stuffed Into An Artificial Casing & Smoked For A Full-bodied, Fiery Flavour. Only Helps That These Fresh In-House Sausages Are Smoked With Mango-Wood Chips From Their Own Plantation. While Munching On This And The Delectably Fried Hasselback Potatoes, You May Even Consider Buying Links Of These At Once. Now Say It With Me “O Maria Pitashe!”
Cake. You Can Have It & Eat It Too. Just Parcel One Home. You’ll Know What I Mean When You See This Old-Timers Beauty, Moist & Multi-Layered With Ganache. Some More Chocolate Cake? It’s The Godfather Of Confection, After All.
Ricotta Cheesecakes Have Been The Way To Go In Italia Ever Since The Dish Popped Into The Public Eye. Why Mention That? Because It’s Not Cream Cheese As Used In The States. Ricotta Makes It Lighter, Grainier & Less Sickeningly Saccharine (If At All). It’s Topped With An (Again ? Do I Really Have To Specify It) In-House Strawberry Compote.
While Chewy Pork Bacon In Ice Cream Might Sound Counter-Intuitive As A Combination, It’s Stuck Around For 30 Years Now, All The While Kicking. It’s Salty, Sweet & Only Faintly Meaty. A Perfect Boost To The Already Expressive...
Read moreWe visited The Farm for brunch and had a wholesome experience. Here’s what we tried:
Starters • Sabudana (Javvarasi) Vada — excellent, crispy yet melt-in-the-mouth with a nice chew. • Sri Lankan Style Devilled Paneer — good but not particularly memorable. • Egg Salad on Toast — egg salad was scrumptious, but the bread was hard and dry. • Edible Fungi — interesting and enjoyable as a unique dish.
Mains • Mozzarella and Caramelised Pineapple Pizza with Jalapeños — decent pizza, though the caramelised pineapple was unexpectedly hard and tacky. • Aloo Stuffed Parathas — homely and comforting.
Beverages • Aam Panna and Carrot, Apple & Ginger Juice — refreshing. • Cold Filter Coffee — absolutely loved it! Rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed. • Cold Brew — disappointing; tasted weak and watery (coffee aficionado husband’s verdict).
Dessert • Avocado Ice Cream — creamy with crunchy nuts, though slightly bitter aftertaste (possibly underripe avocado).

Ambience & Service The ambience was spectacular — open, airy, and surrounded by nature. We loved strolling around and spotting animals like dogs, cats, and even a frog! The rustic, eco-friendly design using recycled/upcycled materials added charm.
Service was relaxed and friendly. They provided a high chair (basic but helpful) and even brought plain yogurt for our baby, which was thoughtful.
The place also has ample parking and is wheelchair accessible, which makes it convenient and inclusive.
Farm Shop A charming little shop where we picked up fresh Manathakkali Keerai and delicious Sea Salt Caramel Toffees.

Overall, The Farm offers a beautiful and relaxing setting with wholesome food. While there were a few hits and misses, the nature-soaked ambience, friendly service, and highlights like the Cold Filter Coffee made it a very enjoyable experience. Prices are definitely on the higher side, mostly for the ambience and farm-to-table concept, but it’s worth a visit for the peaceful...

The lush green gardens, a cattle farm, and a pet-friendly environment make this restaurant a unique spot in Chennai. However, what stood out negatively was the service. The staff member taking our order displayed unnecessary attitude, insisting, “This is my menu, I know what I’m talking about.” Such behavior felt bossy and unprofessional, diminishing the overall experience.
Highlights Pork Pepperoni Pizza & Tandoori Chicken Pizza: Absolutely delicious and worth trying. Homestyle Buttermilk & Farm Special Lassi: Refreshing and authentic. Watermelon Juice: Simple yet enjoyable. Filter Coffee: Classic and satisfying, served with options like jaggery, sugar, or honey. Old-Fashioned Chocolate Cake: Rich, decadent, and a must-have!
Misses Garlic Bread: Small portions and lacked flavor, with a deconstructed presentation. Hasselback Potatoes: Bland and unappetizing. Stuffed Chicken Paratha: Overloaded with turmeric and oddly paired with dal. Salted Caramel Latte: More like cold coffee with minimal caramel flavor. Cold Chocolate: Just average and not memorable.
The Smoked Chicken Platter and Bacon were decent but nothing extraordinary. The Cold Brew Passion Fruit had potential but was diluted by ice. A stronger, chilled version would be better.
Service is quick, with food arriving in about 20 minutes. However, the beverages need more attention to detail. The restaurant also features a store selling fresh produce and cheese, which is a nice addition.
Final Thoughts
A few standout dishes make it worth a visit, but the service and a few other dishes need significant...
