The church is nice but sc0undr3ls like Fr Joe Andrew and Deva Joe make it bad. Joe Andrew is a big talk. He will talk for hours but wont lift his finger for people who have fallen into trouble on account of his advice/preaching or take responsibility for his actions. Joe Andrew - did not maintain a balance between the communities from the 2 languages. Joe Andrew was kindly requested, for God's sake, not to come back here to say Mass for the problems that he caused while he was here, but the fellow like a devil, won't listen and keeps coming back here again and again and disturbing our peace of mind.

Here's what the Bible says about them: Matt 23 - For they preach, but do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi by others.

The 2 fellows are nothing but eyewash. All whitewashed tombstones. Deva Joe is nothing but a wolf in sheep's clothing, a sc0undr3l of the highest order, a son of Satan. He reflects anything but Christ like qualities. They give a hoot about others. Deva Joe is the worst priest to serve in Perambur Church. And Oh! if its a woman he will shamelessly run to help. He is a disgraceful fellow. He is a Number 1 escape artist. He will go to hell before all others.

Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine is a 123-year-old Catholic Church with a rich history. It has been administered by the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) since 1934. The architecture faintly echoes that of the original Lourdes Shrine (France). It organises a widely attended week-long annual feast culminating on 11 February.

They celebrate several masses (Tamil and English) daily.

The priests extend great spiritual help towards the staff and students of the neighbouring St. Joseph’s Anglo-Indian School in the form of monthly confessions, First Friday mass, guest speeches during retreats and events, and spiritual direction.

Although I belong to St. Sebastian’s Church (Madhavaram), I had a wonderful five years as part of the St. Joseph’s school choir for several masses at Our Lady of Lourdes.

The upper church is a visual marvel. The lower church has a room at the entrance with a massive crucifix that will stir your heart and bring a tear to your eye. The adoration chapel is serene.

The campus is expansive, but oppressively hot despite having a decent number of trees and plants.

The liturgical goods store has pleasant staff, but it is begging for a remodel. Moving around gets awkward in there because there’s hardly any wiggle room. Great literature and a decent collection of statues (Don Bosco, Mary Help of Christians, Infant Jesus, Holy Family, Sacred Heart, Anthony), crucifixes, and rosaries.

Once perambur lourdes Church was serene. Now a days it has become a commercial place Christians know very well that how Christ became furious when he saw the church which had been made as a marketing place, and how he whipped and drove away them from his father's place. But what is going on in all the churches? Especially Tami mass is loosing its divinity . The members who attend the Tamil mass here are very rude in their attitude . Religion is a profitable business nowadays The choir in the church does not sing with devotion They yell in high pitch. The good old Anglo-indians are really suffering. The fathers are not bothering about anything. The people who come here don't pray they chat with others. The security never interferes. Increasing the church membership is important than to make them to be a good Christian. There are many church people in mangalapuram and in the surrounding areas of the church. We know how good are these people, then what is the use of being a Christian they say very proudly that they are Christians but they do not follow the Ten Commandments of the Bible Then how can they say that they are real Christians the fathers are not taking any measures to change the behavior of the church member.
