Hotel Shalimar — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

We three friends visited here for dinner at nearly 10.30 pm, When we asked for tandoori items they said the tandoori section was closed for the day, I was not surprised as it was already close to midnight. So we ordered "Shalimar's Special chicken briyani" it was similar to the Mughals Briyani called in some places. The Briyani was sauted with some dry fruits and egg, instead of normal Briyani chicken we got 4 pieces of chicken 65. Take wise it was good but the gravy they served with it was lip smacking. With it we ordered, Chicken Winglet as many of their items were not available at the time. It tasted good as well, just some chicken wings sauteed with pepper and some kind of sauce. On the main side, we ordered Parotha with Shalimar Special chicken , i would rate it average but the chicken pieces seemed fresh even at the time, which was awesome. We ended the dinner with a cup of tea each, it was good felt like homely. (Sorry we were so hungry that I forgot to take the picture of Briyani). Yes this Biriyani holds a hell of place in my heart Enternally. Whenever I was so hungry or I was depressed or I was happy or I was in Any kind of starving I first prefer this place . my favourite is there Hyderabadi chicken biriyani . It will be so spicy and my taste buds will fall for it even (I am drooling now )eating with there Salna is the best ever part of biryani taking a handful amount of biryani and pouring Salna to it makes the best biriyani .having the first bite of the biryani will literally be soulful. The other dishes are mutton Biriyani chicken lollipop where just awesome I will try More often this for my soulful Biriyani now people who lives in and around Perambur Do visit that place and comment your experience /thoughts below 🛎

Went with my friends to this hotel on 31-July-2022 & had VERY WORST EXPERIENCE.

We found some parts of an IRON SCRUBBER (used for washing vessels) in the Prawn Biryani.

Prawn was not cleaned well & it was muddy. I spitted the prawns which were muddy.

Our guy who ate Chicken Biryani, vomited after coming to home. Then only we found that the CHICKEN they used for BIRYANI was ROTTEN & it was very old stock kept in freezer for longer days.

Only Paaya was good.

This was my favourite hotel during my childhood days.

But, now the TASTE & QUALITY Levels has gone DOWN VERY BADLY.
