I didn’t think we could love a breakfast buffet more until they added orangutang’s 🦧 Being full time travellers we are always on the look out for fun new experiences that are suitable for the whole family. Thanks to @discoverpelago we are able to search and book experiences in 15 different countries like this amazing breakfast with Orangutang’s. This school holidays they are giving you $20 off when you spend $100 just by using the code PEL20FAMILY. If you had the choice between sharing a breakfast with these cuties or racing an ATV through the jungle which would you choose? . . . . #discoverpelago #pelago #singaporeairlines #bali #balizoo #breakfastwithorangutans #orangutang #experiencebali #travelblog #travelexperience #travelwithme #adventurefamily #familyadventures #familyactivities

Bali Zoo is a medium-sized zoo where you can see that the staff really cares about their animals. There is a healthy variety of animals, plenty of relaxation spots for families, fairly priced foods and drinks and well-adjusted security personnel. Photographers are also present in abundance, and for a (little steep but still acceptable) fee you can bring home some unique moments you can have with some of the animals (such as feeding experiences). During our elephant mud experience we could especially tell the respect the people here have for their elephants, and the obvious relaxed state the animal was in during the experience. She (the elephant) decided what she wanted to do and no zoo keeper or tourist forced her otherwise; the way it should be. Apart from that, the rest of the animals mostly seemed happy and free to roam their enclosures. This is however also one of the two things I would change in the zoo; some animals really do need larger enclosures (and in some cases more water) and the elephant rides, contrary to the mud experiences which are way less forced on the animal in our experience, are no longer appropriate for this day and age and should be discontinued. To close on a positive note, because we did leave the zoo with a good feeling in our hearts; Bali Zoo is doing some great things to preserve and continue the legacy of their (often endangered) animals, among which the elephant breeding program and their release of several apes in the wild are standouts. We highly recommend you visit Bali Zoo if you are visiting the island and contribute to their efforts in keeping these animals safe, happy, healthy and accessible to all (but do skip the elephant rides please)!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful zoo with my cousin, and it was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. The beautiful environment and the incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff made our day truly special. The highlight of our visit was the opportunity to get up close and personal with the magnificent tigers and elephants. My cousin is a huge fan of these animals, and being able to feed them was a dream come true for him. The staff ensured that we had a safe and educational experience, and we could sense their genuine love and care for these animals. We also appreciated the clean and well-maintained facilities, including restrooms and dining options. The gift shop had a fantastic selection of souvenirs to remember our visit. As I approached the monkey enclosure, I couldn’t resist taking a few pictures of these curious and playful creatures. To my surprise, when I showed them the pictures on my camera, they displayed genuine curiosity and interest. It was a joy to watch them examine their own images, clearly fascinated by their reflections. They seemed to want more, and their inquisitive behavior was both amusing and heartening. This unexpected interaction added an unforgettable and personal touch to my visit. It’s moments like these that make a trip to the zoo truly exceptional. The monkeys’ playful nature and their willingness to engage with visitors made the experience even more memorable.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU LOVE ANIMALS!!! Unfortunately we didn’t read the reviews or do any research prior to coming.. we later found out this zoo is not accredited by the international zoo association and we see exactly why. The space in the enclosure and lack of enrichment the animals have access to is extremely minimal. My mother, sister and I left 2 hours after arriving after witnessing the absolutely horrible conditions the animals are in.. made us feel sick to our stomachs. If the animal wasn’t extremely malnourished and bored it was pacing back and forth because of distress and the lack of space it had to roam around. All these 5 star reviews are obviously coming from people who either have never seen a proper zoo before or come from countries that probably treat animals the same. Pictured below. The Tiger - was in the worst condition out of all the animals was extremely malnourished and looked as though he had a lot of trouble moving around (pain in joint areas) The cockatoos - had chunks of feathers missing from their body’s due to distress. Wallabies- last time I checked Australia had grass? So why are these poor animals only on concrete? - coming from an Aussie. This place should be INVESTIGATED AND SHUT DOWN for the wellbeing and safety of these poor animals. I’ll say it again do not give this place your money!

Had an amazing family day at Bali Zoo! It exceeded all our expectations. The zoo is beautifully maintained, and it’s clear that the animals are very well cared for. The environment is lush and peaceful, making it the perfect place to spend a day out with family. What really stood out was the variety of activities beyond just walking around and seeing the animals. We got to feed some of the animals, which was such a unique and fun experience, especially for the kids. There were also bird presentations, where you can get up close with some beautiful species, and even the opportunity to ride an elephant! It’s truly an interactive experience that makes you feel more connected with the wildlife. Another highlight is the range of dining options inside the zoo. Whether you’re looking for a quick snack or a proper meal, there’s something for everyone. The restaurants and food courts offer a variety of choices, from light bites to more substantial dishes, so you can easily spend a full day here without worrying about where to eat. Overall, Bali Zoo offers much more than a typical zoo experience. It’s a great place for families to have a fun and engaging day out. If you’re in Bali, this place is a must-visit for all ages. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Bali zoo is unique in curating experiences for guests. There were many opportunities for animal feeding and encounters. Upon entering, at the free feeding of deers, I met a lovely staff member Dayumini. She was really friendly and helpful in showing us how to feed the deers properly. Her cheerful spirit also made the experience really pleasant. However, one thing that disappoints me is that this zoo still provides elephant rides. I understand that it is an easy way to make money and tourists love it, but it is unethical towards the elephants. Furthermore, as expected, food was a little pricey as well. But apart from these small mishaps, i think that facilities are great, some toilets are air conditioned though it could use more light, animal feedings were enjoyable and reasonably priced at 75K and staff were nice and friendly. They were really eager to share about the animals names and backstories and it was nice to see how passionate they were. Overall, I would recommend giving this place a visit. However, if you’re opposed to elephant rides like I am, please do give feedback about it because we can’t have unethical elephant treatment at this day and age🙁
