Hai Bali Cycling Tour — Attraction in Bali

I have done this tour a number of times before, once I think with this company and other times with different companies and this is the first time I’ve left a review, unfortunately not a good one. I have read through previous reviews and our experience this time sounds very similar to a previous review I have read. We were collected from our hotel at 7.30 am, our ride didn’t commence until 1pm. It has never been such a long morning and such a long drive before this ride. 5 and a half hours is far too long for what the ride is. The ride was ok, same as I have previously done, a lot of down hill, not much pedalling, but good fun all the same. The group was split into two, with some wanting a slower easier ride on the road and other (myself and partner included) wanting to explore more off road and happy to go a bit faster. We got to the restaurant for lunch at about 2.30 pm, ate, then waited for the other group for about another hour and a half. By this time we had had enough of the day and just wanted to head back to our hotel, but had to wait for the other guests to eat, then order more food, swim in the pool, and whatever else they wanted to do to fill in time. We eventually spoke to the tour leader and stated we were keen to get moving so he hurried things along a bit with the other guests, but by the time we eventually got back to our hotel in Legian, it was close to 7p.m.. the ride is good, and it’s a good way to see parts of Bali that you may not otherwise see, but the whole day was over 11 hours for a one and a half hour bike ride. A very disappointing experience to say the least. We were picked up at 8am and did not get to start out ride until after 12.30pm. Breakfast was served at 11.30am. Only choice- rice or noodles. When the food came, we had to eat it in a fly infested area. The views were spectacular but no one took the time to tell us where we were or what we were looking at. When we eventually started the ride, it was relatively easy- hardly used the pedals. Most was down hill. The guides were either Leading or at the end. No one knew where we were or what we were riding past. Very disappointing, as some of the views were stunning. There were 2 very serious falls. The guides only had band aids and a small bottle of betadine. One rider had to be taken to hospital while the other was given a bandage (from another rider) and patched up. They will need to see a doctor on their return to their accommodation. We got to our lunch destination around 3.30pm. The food was cold. We left around 4pm and it took 2 hours for us to get home (Seminyak). We were the first dropped off Kuta & Nusa Dua to go. No air con in the car as the driver informed us they were running out of petrol... Overall, a very disappointing and underwhelming experience. Lots of stunning views but no one took the time to tell us what they were. Do not recommend - please look for...

Wonderful bike tour and coffee/tea/cocoa/spice plantation tour! Our guide Tony and driver "king Kong") - ???? were all so helpful, happy and accommodating and gave my daughter and I a totally personalised service. The ride was great and Tony was always very attuned to safety and our capability - highly recommend this group. Extremely reasonable pricing too, especially as breakfast and gourmet lunch feast included!...
