I joined this fun cooking class during my stay in Ubud. I booked through their online website 1 week before, but I recommend you to book a bit more in advance if you want to book for 2 or more. (I think I could book as I was solo.) The farm was not that far from the central and as they have pick up and drop off service from your hotel, it was pretty convenient. After we arrived the farm, they welcomed with a cute coconut water and we headed to the kitchen / farm by a car. Although we were supposed to pick the ingredients from the farm by ourselves, as it was raining so hard, we had to change the plan and they already prepared for us. They then will give you instruction as well as explanation of dishes we will cook. You will be able to experience lots of cooking style from vegetable cutting to peanut cracking, mixing spice using a special millstone. At total, we cooked 8 dishes including sweet potato rice and dessert. All the dishes were delicious but I liked Satay Lilit(tuna satay) and corn flitters! You will also enjoy talking with teachers as they were really funny and kind (and speaks good English too). Such a great way to experience local foods. Highly recommend joining this class when you visit...
Read moreThe experience at the farm was amazing. Apung took care of us by picking us up and taking us to the farm while sharing his knowledge as a local in the island. Komang and him directed us to their facilities and treated us with much love and care and this was reflected in how fresh the products in their farm were.
One truly felt like cooking with family, together with Wayan and other team members they showed us how to prepare from scratch every recipe, with passion and with seasonal ingredients, making sure of using them in a way that we produce 0 waste.
Although I was feeling unwell that day, they were taking care that everyone was feeling comfortable, water and other refreshing drinks were always offered as well as some resting area and the atmosphere was very peaceful. Furthermore Apung made sure we return save and sound and his cousing drove us back to the city.
I hope they get a lot of support and more respectful visits from other tourist, this is a perfect experience to appreciate the richness in Balinese culture.

Read moreAmazing experience. If you want to taste traditional Balinese recipes and learn how to make them, this place is highly recommended.
Comang (I hope I write it correctly) really took us on a tour from the start to the end. We were shown where they grow their own crops, harvested what we needed for the day, and ofcourse all was followed by the whole experience of preparing Balinese dishes using their traditional methods.
All in all a very rich experience that included learning about the Balinese culture in multiple ways, enjoying their amazing food, all set in a very serene farm, combined with the kindness of Comang and his friends/colleagues.
And a small spoiler: … When you leave you get a little booklet with their recipes. Might not sound like much, but after you’ve tasted the food this booklet might become the most valuable thing you’re gonna take home...
