This is a Riverside promenade along the Martapura River that has become the most lively public open space in the city, especially during weekend. You can find hundreds of street stalls selling anything you need. I can find traditional food and cakes easily here (my favourite is the lady who sells klepon and lupis). And of course, the semi floating market is the must-visit site you have to see in this area. Located on floating dock, the market runs by 'acil-acil' or aunties that offer local fresh fruits harvested from the farms upstream. Adjacent to the fruits section you can find popular local food such as Soto Banjar and sate.
Along this promenade there is the "Menara Pandang" or observatory tower where you can climb up to view the surrounding from above. Two wooden buildings stand next to the Menara: Rumah Coklat (Brown house) of the library and police-tourism joint office, and Rumah Anno where you can find souvenir shop and café. Fresh vegetables and fruits also sold here at cheap price and you can bargain for more lower price. Please remember in mind that there are enough parking lot both for motorbikes and cars but you really to be careful before left your vehicles. For the motorbikes, please do not lock it. Don't worry, your bike is safe. It just the parking attendants need to organise the vehicles parked there.
You will also find it really amused you if you try to eat snacks at the side of Martapura river. You can see boats placed at the side of the decks where also people walks upon it.
